Looks like a software glitch. The only other reason I can think of is that the AC circuit was stopped due to over heating, but that should not happen in the morning.
I am worried about the battery though. It's around 40 months old now. Can it be because of a weak battery?

That is entirely possible. Some manufacturers have a robust ECU that can weather low battery voltage, while some have ECU which have random faults at low battery.
It is best to get the battery checked and if some cell is weak change it.
