My friend is fighting a a legal case against them for a defective logan they delivered to him. Everytime, it rains, the cabin is full of water. The AC works the same whether in Recycle mode or Fresh air mode. His cabin is always full of dust.

If there is a problem, as a true Indian manufacturer, M&M should be bold enough to call back the vehicles and get it replaced asap. They should understand that there are lot many lives can be at risk by not doing so.

Currently M&M is not seeing all of these niggles / issues eating up into their market share. But that would happen soon if the issues are not resolved immediately. Also may see the used car market going to get dumped with XUVs at dirt cheap, which will eventually affect the new car sales if they don't resolve the issues on time. A good smile nice class room trained words with hot tea /coffee at dealership will only help to cool down customers for a while. Ultimately the product quality is what matters to the people who spend their hard earned money on it.
No they are not doing it for all the vehicles. But if the owner asks to get it replaced they do it without any problem.
Here are the parts that were changed

The only thing that's saving XUV is the sound aftersales support.

re: Mahindra XUV500 niggles & solutions

Rohit.. But we need to know which vehicle will need a replacement, like the ones that were manufactured until Feb or Mar or Apr. How do we know that the vehicle needs a clutch replacement.. In my Linea MJD that I had 2 yrs back, FIAT replaced the clutch slave cylinder for certain batch of vehicles proactively and mine was under that batch. replacement was done proactively during service without me asking for it.

Is there any indication that which batch of XUV's has clutch issues?

Meanwhile, I will get mine next week and its a APR manufactured vehicle. One of the guys had cancelled the vehicle and I took it. I inspected the vehicle closely and I didn't find any visual defects. So I "ASSUME" it does not have any issues and the dealer is not trying to sell me a defective piece..

Thanks for confirming Rohit. There is some issue with the files attached. They are showing invalid attachment specified while download.

I see it's fixed by moderators.
One more thing, when the problem of clutch occurred I saw a message that the break oil is at low level and I should drive slow. When I saw the bill that it includes break oil topup I asked my RM, he told me that both things are interrelated
.
So fellow owners, if you see such a warning or you physically check the break oil level and it's low, it's time to contact your RM to get the clutch replaced.
I remember a member here mentioned that warning message appeared on his XUV , wanted to confirm if he ended up getting the clutch replaced.
Here's the bill attached.

That may be subjective, we may not generalize it without complete details.
@Rohit, anything you can find out from RM/Service center about what batches this issue has been fixed, will be great!
Any ideas about how to look for the symptoms! or it just gives up one fine day! early symptoms may help get it fixed proactively and can save time and sometimes lives too.

If there are 40 to 50 clutch spares being replaced on regular basis, cant we, along with those owners collectively do something about this! Getting M&M to recall sepcific batches and fix the problem!!

OK, just saw your update, that can be one thing as part of the symptoms! not sure though!

Generalize ?

Scorpio issues run into more than 100 pages? here in the forrum. XUV issues have already done 30-31 sheets ? None of the other car issues probably run into pages like Mahindras. Are we still calling it generalizing.

Complete details ? The no of sheets here give the complete details, i suppose.

Sheer quantity in terms of number of sheets may not be the best way to judge the substance of issues.
A more scientific or statistical approach would be fairer provided someone can come up with analytics based on tbhp notes.
Same goes for the reams of pages of grumblings about the Tatas or Skoda India or whatever.

emotions!
and thats obvious. nothing wrong about it. Aslo agree with Shankar sir, an approach with parameters like number of vehicles on the road in that category, their applications compared to other categories, users etc will also help fill those pages easily.

I fought my fight and simply gave up. M&M just doesn't measure up in terms of quality - With my list of 18+ issues(17 closed), I can say that for sure.. Btw.. The brakes are still not sorted out.

One can argue that the 17 issues(mine) were fixed by the awesome after sales service.. My question is.. Why did these issues crop up in the first place?

Would any of us give the same leeway for a TV made by Samsung or LG? Wouldn't you throw the TV back at the dealership? Lets not compromise in the basic quality expectations.. A brake issue which is not sorted out for 7 months is just not right.

re: Mahindra XUV500 niggles & solutions

Been to Sireesh Workshop with my list of issues:

1) Security Alarm went off twice after last mid night and my neighbours started shouting at my car from their terrace :( . I had to leave the car in unlock position and stay awake to avoid a cross border clash from my sleep deprived neighbours last night. Very weird and I honestly didnt expect this from my 3 weeks old car.

Resolution from Sireesh: SW updated. I really dont know that will solve the problem. I have read somewhere on this thread that it is an issue with the intrusion detection switch under the hood. Mentioned this to RM, but as per him the issue is not the switch, but software itself. I decided to wait and watch.

2) HU restarts by itself and after restart all actions are horribly slow (A touch on List button will take approx 1 min to open the list. Also got a USB error. The same USB was playing fine for the past 3 weeks. I have not added / deleted any files.

Resolution from Sireesh: Software update. RM said indeed my version of Firmware had a problem and rectified in the one to which they updated my car. didn't get any issue till now.

3) Suspension noise on irregular surface. The sound is something like you will hear from a car with a worn out bearing. Suspension is not filtering the vibration from small patches on road.

Resolution from Sireesh: As per RM, the issue is due to lower arm suspension bushes being made with hard substance. Mahindra is working on a softer materiel to fix all suspension noises and brake screeches.

4) Brake not effective and resonating noise while braking.

Resolution from Sireesh: Same as above. As per my RM the solution for suspenion noise and brake response and brake noise are inter related and a common fix is being tested by M&M R&D accross India now. He is not sure about expected time of fix release, but guessing it to be out by end of Oct.

5) Mid row seat lever for flipping the seat is not working and hence third row passengers cant enter and exit.

Resolution from Sireesh: A cable is broken that actuates the seat lock. As per RM, not a common issue. Parts needs to be ordered. Expected time frame 15 days.

6) Squeaking noise from center console (Somewhere near to gear ) .

Resolution from Sireesh: Asked M&M for directions on fixing. Waiting for response. I have no idea what my RM mean by this. Cant they fix a simple thing? But then I was too tired and just gave up.

They have updated the Map to 7.0 without I am requesting. Also washed the vehicle before delivery.

I have shown the pictures of Clutch parts that was uploaded by Rohit. My RM lean down from the driver seat, had a look at the VIN number on B pillar and said that my vehicle was April manufactured and hence the clutch parts are already taken care from factory. I hope this is really true and will not face any issues on midway. I really dont want to brake open the gear box on a brand new car.

Also met another two XUV owners who took delivery of their vehicles 3 weeks back. For both of them the front LHS window motor gave up. Windows are not rolling up. Heard from one of them that the whole glass assembly got replaced once for rectifying the same issue last week, but the same window got issue for the second time.

So after taking delivery of the car, I have spend two Saturdays in workshop. And I am sure this is not the last.

After 5 hours of waiting got the car back and after driving a few yards I realized that the USB drive connected to the USB port is missing. I had left it in car purposefully for mechanics to check the USB error. Went back and informed about it to the lady in counter as my RM was not present. After 30 minutes of waiting she came back and said checked with everyone and they dont have any clue. Left the workshop frustrated, called few folks in Sireesh management I knew, guess what, within 10 mins I received a call saying they found the device. I told them I would come and collect it by Monday and said thanks for finding it.

re: Mahindra XUV500 niggles & solutions

OMG.. All of these in a 3 weeks old car is simply unacceptable. I will also get APR manufactured car and am getting mentally prepared. I still wonder whether I made the right decision.

Probably I must have waited for the Duster I guess. Let me think over this tomorrow and take a final call. My car is going for registration on Tuesday.

Hey, there are multiple people on this forum who had the issue and the culprit was always the bonnet switch.

Insist on replacing the switch. If they don't agree, try if you can get it done from India Garage.

Standard dialogue from Sireesh from 4 years now. They haven't change is it ? This is trained speaking for sure.

In my case, when i visit my sedan's service centres, i see most of the other new car owners having come to "service only"

I mean what can be so atrocious than this. i know the pain this owner would have undergone to get his new vehicle stripped

i am sorry to say this, based on past experiences, your weekends will be busy though.Probably hectic than your office hours. Try to find a solution to see through this once and for all.
