Required- Dimensions of brake pads on linea

Hi All,

I wanted to buy performance brake pads for my linea from Brembo or EBC.
however there a very big problem.

Fiat has huge variety and range of brake pads across the vehicles + across the countries on same model.

owing to this i am unable to find out which size should i purchase.

Does anyone know the dimensions of the front brake pads on INDIAN version of Linea 1.3 MJD/ can help out finding ones from service centre/ measure dimensions on old brake pads that are taken out?

I am currently i Germany, so i am not able to help myself.

The brake dimension is in format 152 X 54 X 17 or 134 X 52 X 18 etc etc.

Dimensions are Width x Height x Total Thickness in mm.
Total Thickness = New thickness of the pad including the backing plate.
Width x Height = As if you a drawing a box around the pad and measuring left to right and top to bottom (the measurements may include gaps depending on the pad design).

refer the pic below.

I'd expect the punto's pad to be of the same dimension.

i had fiat eper ( part list) but had to format the box. ill try to reinstall it and see if i can get the part number for the indian linea mjd. alternatively, ask someone on global fiat forums. most ppl there keep personal copies of eper.

Re: Required- Dimensions of brake pads on linea

If Punto and Linea brake pad dimensions are same I can get them for you by evening. (car is at home and I am office right now)Recently I got brake pads on my Punto replaced. I have the old set with me.
BTW are these numbers written on the brake pad? Or one has to measure them?

thanks a lot, this will help it seems. the dimensions are not written on pads i think. u will have to measure it with scale.

the OEM brake pads are Galfer make, imported from italy, which fade out quickly but have amazing braking capability.

if you have the packing box i think the dimensions will be written on them

Fiat per list doesnt have the brake pads dimensions, i checked

An idea, ask anyone (friend/ASC) to get the brake pad of linea. Put it on a piece of paper and trace the outline as shown in the picture you posted. Then fax it to you. You can get brake pad of same size.

A common way which auto parts dealers use to get brake pads of new/rare cars. Thats what an auto parts dealer did to get my cedia's pads for the first time..

Re: Required- Dimensions of brake pads on linea

I can't help you with sizes but have you read any reviews regarding EBC brakes on Fiat Linea's?

The reason I ask is - I just changed the pad on my Legacy and after going through various forums and reviews I went for the Pagid Blues instead of EBC Red Stuff pads. On the Legacy forum people were complaining about excess brake dust and pad life.

There were similar complains on the Megan Sport and Clio forum. On the other hand some users on the Impreza and Focus RS forum love the EBC pads. So from what I gather, is that the brakes react differently on different vehicles. I also think the Discs may have a part to play.

The Pagid blues are slightly more expensive (in the UK) but overall had better reviews. Also look at Ferrodo. I am currently using Pagid pads and Akebono disks.

Re: Required- Dimensions of brake pads on linea

thanks Samir for the valuable tip. well i am looking for multiple options. brembo/ferrodo/mintex/EBC etc.

but to buy one of these i need the exact dimensions. i called the TASS guys and they called fiat guys. Fiat guys said that we cannot give the dimensions as its design copyright.

strange but true. i am trying to find someone now who can trace the drawing.

Re: Required- Dimensions of brake pads on linea

Thanks a ton Flycatcher.

Now i have started having a strange feeling whether the ones on Punto and Linea are different.

Are these the recently changed brake pads on your punto?

If you look at the pictures below of the brake pads on linea that i took from some other forum you can notice that the design is different. the end part is different as well as there is a curve at the bottom of the pad.

Re: Required- Dimensions of brake pads on linea

These were the brake pads that were fitted on my car from the factory. They were worn out so got them changed during my last service.
