Yes it is Maruti, and MASS did used some wiper fluid, but then the effect seems to be minimal. I think it might be due to it getting near completion, hence wanted to refill it with the same kind of subsitute.

Maybe they did not get the concentration right. You can try buying it from their store and trying again. I was told it comes in sachets.

Just add a little handwash liquid to the wiper reservoir when adding water.
Does the job

Even a shampoo sachet would work wonders.

Hi to all esp Invincible7

Here's my 2 bit for all it might be its worth
Well i use SuperX Superior multipurpose Cleener usually available at BP Pumps. Its mild. I put a cap full in the washer and then fill with water for my Indigo CS
I also use it to clean the car. Its quite good and not as costly as other branded cleaners

Bye for Now

thanks all for the valuable suggestions.

I tried using Mr. Muscle glass cleaner concentrate and it works to some extent, not to the level as you would expect from the solution used by MUL.

Nandan.. i will try searching for SuperX here in Delhi, lets see if this helps.. Thanks.

Car care tips

I have been using the following Amway products with great results:
Car wash shampoo for water washes
Silicon Glaze polish for exterior gloss and shine
Leather vinyl cleaner for interiors
See Spray for windshield and window glass
12V input vaccum cleaner to take care of under mat carpet dust

My red palio mjd is still out of showroom after a year

^^^Have used the Leather vinyl cleaner for interiors from the above. Still have the bottle. Its not half as good as the one from Formula1!

After using it, I didn't feel like trying out any other Amway product.

Pearl, Pearl Metallic, Metallic, Matte, all are available. First time I'm hearing about candy though. You can go to a reputed bodyshop and choose pretty much any colour of your liking to be painted onto your car.
A candy paint is a twin component paint system. It consists of a base coat(B/C) and a Top coat (T/c). These 2 coats work in combination and enhance the paint look, the colour gets a depth (I hope that you get the drift). The top coat has laquer properties and can be tinted also. These 2 coats are usually applied wet-on-wet to get the gloss, shade and depth perception etc.
Candy cannot be likened to a metallic paint with a laquer coat on top.

Hi to esp Raccoon

Well the SuperX is a well established product much before Formula1 & Mr Muscles; well may be even before Maruti came into India. I used to use it on my Ambi. It may not be a well advertised product but its good at what it does. I think you should definitly have seen it in Pumps at Pune

Well Bye for Now and a Happy weekend roading

Teflon coating is good!!!

Hey,

I have got the teflon coat done when i went for 1st service. Its not bad to get one done. That too if its free.Dont miss it.
I had 4-5 coats so far from MSS it was costly around 6000 for 2 yrs.It include anti rust, body coat, engine coat etc.I wont renew it from MSS again. It was a riff off and not worth it for Rs.6000.better get it done from outside.
Do take it if its offered Free of cost.I doubt its marketing tatics though.hmm

Haven't seen any other brand in shops.
The waxpol product is very good and cost effective. Last used it in '07 and it cost me about 40 Rs then. However it smells like cheap desi booze. If your a/c recirc flap is open then the smell enters the car and you feel you are driving around with a bunch of drunks.
Mostly sold at smaller shops probably because of the low cost and consequently narrow dealer margins.
Am not sure if shampoo/handwash soap is a good idea. Probably not.

I never said its a bad product for the use its intended for!
  • But is ment to...
  • Be mixed with water?
  • Be pured into the windscreen washer tank?
  • Be pumped around by the windscreen washer pump?
  • Be safe for use on paints/plastics/rubber?

If not, I wouldn't use it.
