Hi Wolfheart, gear slippage can be serious. Get it checked out and insist that it be done under warrenty. With my VLX it started like this only and I was unable to convince the A.S.S. till the gears started slipping to neutral from 3rd & 5th while driving.

Ultimately M&M replaced the gear box, seems some locking ring in the gear box was defective / broken.

You can reviw my posts on this issue in this thread.

suggestion on first service

There are standard checkpoints the *** will look into when doing the service as listed in the service book and incase we have some issues they will look in to it. thats is enough for your first service, hope there wont be any issues if you have taken care of the run in for the first 1000kms or so properly.

1. Engine oil & oil filter change.
2. Rear differential oil change.
3. HVAC particle filter cleaning.
4. Inspection and rectification (if needed) of all other fluid levels, electricals, under chassis etc.

I am also planning to go in for wheel alignment and tyre rotation, but not at the ASC.

Apart from these, should I ask the ASC to do anything else as part of preventive maintenance?

Cheers,
Vikram

I wonder what might be the purpose / function for this bolt sticking out of the floorboard behind the clutch pedal in all VLX Refresh models (at least those that I've inspected, including mine). Just ruined a good pair of shoes on it. There is no provision for a dead pedal here (which the bolt might have held in place). Cannot figure out what purpose it serves. It doesn't seem to be holding anything on the underside of the car either, but the head of the bolt is behind another partition and cannot be removed.

Is this a redundant bolt? What do I do? Cut off the bolt flush with the floorboard? Or is there a purpose for this bolt to be there?

Spike, your advice please!

It would be best to just cover the bolt with a rubber pad,say 4"x4"x2"

That would keep both the bolt and your shoes happy

The driver side power window of my Scorp has been occasionally not working in the past. M & M A.S.S has so far replaced the switch assembly and some connectors(yes, that is the way they repair something; keep replacing whatever comes in hand, until the problem is resolved). From today, it completely stopped working! I need to take it up to them tomorrow

Its confirmed that i am facing a wierd issue of air leakage in my Hawk.

Off late i have been driving it on highways with 100%AC,whenever a fast moving vehicle overtakes the hawk,or if i overtake a slower truck from left.
I feel a blast of warm air on my arm, from where,i dont know

Akshay,

I guess the door rubber lining might be the culprit. Check for gaps for the door as wells the door panel and the quarter panel gaps.

simple. close the windows & drive!

kidding! as surya mentioned, its most probably the rubber lining, or beading as many say, that may have come loose.

Could be M&M's way of testing the bolt for the dead pedal before the US launch.

Ask the A.S.S. to replace the window drive motor.

I had the similar issue and was resolved with the similar solution. one good thing is i was able to find better service center. The new MPL service center in OMR is awesome... since it is new, your vehicle gets more attention.

I have / still have issues with the power windows specially the drivers side window. The glass rattles in the door when it is rolled down, while rolling up the motor dosent stop in time and tries to push up the glass further.

The passenger side switches work as per their own mind.

Have complained to the M&M Mumbai office yeaterday.

I'm not sure what to do now. I finally decided to go to the A.S.S and booked an appointment, but when I started the car and tried to operate the window, it goes vrooom! This happened yesterday morning and I tried at least 50 times from then till now, and it always works! They have already checked all possible loose connections etc and also replaced the switch assembly last time.

There seems to be no other option except to have the motor replaced.
