they used to. there was a yellow sticker on the non-crde scorpios on the dashboard, besides the right AC vent. its absent in the newer scorpios though. maybe they think such things are taken for granted now.

Bad state of affairs, probable cost cutting here too...at least the manual / CD should have had a mention of this.

M&M should also mention this in their brochure as well as the CD they provide.

Gurus pls guide.[/quote]

Hi,
Gave my vehicle for service at VST ,Velachery.
Issues as mentioned earlier.
They claim to have to checked all turbo hoses, new airfilter , changed gear oil, checked cat con, egr etc...
Did a test drive now .Feel that the car is much smoother but the turbo does not seem to kick in.
So they have decided to send the turbo to TEL for assesment.
Will update.

tnx

Turbo Failed!

Just got a call from VST saying that TEL has tested and have found that the turbo has faileD.Since my vehicle was bought under the 5 yr warranty scheme(mahindra celebrated their 60th anniversary in 2007) so, for a brief period they gave 60 months warranty. They are writing to mahindra for replacement according to the SA.
I stand vindicated! Thanx TBHP for educating novices like me on the technicalities.

tnx

Hi,
Mahindra has rejected free replacment as the vehicle has been serviced once in MY TVS and not in their authorised service centre.
They have cited poor oil quality as the cause for turbo failure but, i have changed all required filters, parts even before suggested time.
Pls advice on whom in Mahindra direct i can escalate the issue to.
tnx

You won't get very far with legal procedures in that case. They have clear clauses which state that warranty will be void if the vehicle is serviced outside the authorized dealership. Too bad we don't have laws like they do in the US which stop them from doing crap like this.

You may have to find someone in Mahindra to do this as a favor.

Just one question how they found that once it was serviced outside A.S.S ?
Did you tell your self ?
