Sudarshan, sorry sir, I didn't want to start on the negative note so I didn't respond earlier.
I spoke to Monaro on the breakfast meet day, I cannot spare the whole day for the the drive during that dates thats the reason I am opting out.

If at all possible I may still join you guys on the D'day.

Also, we are working Saturday the 20th so will probably just be lazing at home all day that day

Thanks Ajay, Mr.Comet, it seems was apprehended by Mrs.Comet. So I had to do this all alone. But it was 8 hours of fun. Had I not taken the stupid decision to turn left towards Hinjewadi on the Mulshi road, I would have reached even earlier. Except for that it was an absolute fun drive!

To all those who are planning the drive through Verandah:

We drove through Verandah ghat on Sunday and returned via Pali-Khopoli road on Tuesday. The conditions are horrible for any car lover to drive his car on. The terrain is completely for SUV's and average sedans / hatchbacks will bottom out. Upgraded low profile tyres will have sidewall cuts and ignored driving will lead to a broken suspension.

While we would still like to go (including the family), the Jazz is ruled out of this trip. I dont have it in me to drive at 20 throughout the trip. Subsequently, I am now down to tentative

I don't think it is too horrible. I did the whole trip is less than eight hours. That is close to 260 KMs with a few breaks. I was doing decent speeds all over and my tires, alloys and suspension are still in tact and I did not bottom even in a single occasion. However, I did this on Saturday. Tamhini ghat has got worst roads but I could manage them in my Figo.
