Sir,

Don't worry. We will drive at respectable speeds and no one will get lost.

Also Lavasa is easy to reach - I went there first in February 2009 in a humble Indica diesel and had no problems whatsoever.

All you do is to go upto Chandni Chowk and if you don't know how to go further, ask for directions for Paud or Lavasa. People are very helpful and will guide you correctly. This desi GPS system works and has no purchase or maintenance costs!

In any case we will be driving in a convoy- if there are many cars then we can break the convoy into two smaller ones, the fast ones and the not so fast ones.

Don't worry, enjoy the drive.

Regards

For first timers to Lavasa, please note that this road after pirangut when you start climbing up has some obscene slopes and obscene angles.

Bumble beast, keen to know. Do let me know about the meeting point / time on Paud road.
I will reach the meeting point before the Paud Road toll naka at 10.45 am.

The course of the Chor

>>>

Coming to the heart of the matter : the raison d'etre for choosing Chor Bizarre.

They have a buffet which is a 'normal' (aka Punjabi) menu comprising :

>soups ( two - one v, one non v)
> salads ( four- two v, two non v)
> main course ( two non v, four v)
> rice, Indian breads etc
> dessert (three - rice+coconut kheer; small gulab jamuns with rabri; mousse)
> fruits

This is Rs 420/- per plate exclusive of taxes.

They have four odd Kashmiri dishes in the ala carte section - dum aloo kashmiri, a tomato dish, gushtaba (chicken) and mutton rogan josh.

Have informed the restaurant manager that we will be about 18 odd of us, maybe more.

We should get adequate space for seating 20 odd people in our area.
Also gave my mobile no. to the manager.

Let us get there and decide what to have since the place has not been visited/reviewed by us yet.

Bon voyage et bon apetit

Drive safe

P.S. : Sprucegoose and friend will also be there- good!

Here's my first photo!

A tribute to Khoj who we sorely missed in today's meet. (so much that issigonis was "bragging" that he's going to delhi and will catch up at pindis (or something like that) with khoj).

This is done! For me and my wife (Medini who smashed our new ANHC)...I know she is innocent, yes BHPians wil say "Uske liyee do khoon maaf!" ...yes for us crazy travellers, it was indeed a great honor and pleasure to meet Mumbai Pune BHPians.

Was totally mind destroyed with Vishy ka modded Alto....that includes Medini who saw some startling disco lights ....she also enjoyed riding on a Beemer. We met incredible young and old Members, non stop chit chat. Impressed with integration of young and old, Beemers and poor Wagon R's that we drove.

Return trip from sunny hot Lavasa, to shocking drenching rains and thunder showers from nowhere, low clouds, lightning n amazing weather. Chai halt at Hilton Prasad ( a tapri near Temghar dam, where we BikeNomads always stop for chai, dry bhel, misal pav) they loved it all !!

All in all great meet !

Will hook up pics from my cam tomorrow....

Thank you Team Bhp !!

This was a great opportunity to interact with old & new Team-BHPians and I come back with some excellent memories of a convoy of cars streaking up & down the steep inclines of Lavasa. For me it was also an excellent way to get to know my own car better & the drive provided the best atmosphere over all kinds of driving conditions.

Right from the time that we met, the camaderie between all the people was visible & even for one moment no one felt out of place. It was amazing to see the a disparate group of people bonding together with multiple common threads - cars, opportunity to drive & food. Even Jyoti, Abhishek & Akshay had excellent company & really enjoyed themselves. I can now understand why people keep coming back for such meets & I am also game for more such events in the future.

Thanks for the great time & looking forward to the next one.

Fantastic Team-BHP meet.

It was indeed a fantastic meet. Met a few new members. Renewed and strengthened the friendship with the familiar ones. It was also good to interact with the family members of team-bhpians. I hope they too enjoyed meeting new people and families.

Team-BHP meet at Lavasa. Everyone smiling.
