The ZHZ is a special edition created for Hertz. It is yellow with a black stripe, bespoke wheels, 6 speed paddle shifted automatic transmission, and the best part, dual mode exhaust. Base suspension.

I am inserting the image here via URL because for some reason the "manage attachments" button is not appearing so I can't attach the file here.

Ok folks, I have tweaked the route slightly, and the following are detailed views of the route.

Day 1 - NY crowd leaves Friday August 7th at 1pm, arriving Lisbon, Ohio for the night.

425 miles

Day 2. Leaving Lisbon at 6am, ending the day at weston, WV. 402 miles.

Day 3. Departing Lisbon at 6am. Two options here.
  • Either we take I-79 and head back to New York, in which case Sunday will be only an interstate drive of 439 miles
  • Or we continue on the country roads for 289 miles, and join I-68 for a 338 mile drive to New York.
IF we are agreed, we will need to make motel reservations at Lisbon Ohio and Weston, WV.

Here are the detailed maps.

Satya, so your reservation is for Friday August 7th? Are you able to leave town by 1pm?

I will find motels in lisbon and weston for us to get reservations in.

PS. I say again, unless that camaro is a big fat discount over the vette, you should rent the vette.

anybody else joining us?

That looks to be an awesome drive you guys have planned out. Do not forget to click loads and loads of pictures of not just cars but the entire scenary/terrain for us lesser mortals.

How's the weather out there now?

@Harbir, i read your review of the Corvette and must say you have an alternate profession of test drive review writer waiting for you. Superb stuff

Will keep a lookout on this thread. You guys drive safe and have a blast !

Pictures...... I don't there will be too many. Satya and I haven't bothered in the past to take pictures, and all our regular camera jockeys from the previous trips are not joining, so I don't know how many pictures there will be.

But I guess we should try to document the trip

Thanks for your comments on my corvette write up. I keep considering starting a car magazine in India but I think I am too late.

Have booked both the Camaro (Avis-EWR) and the Corvette (Hertz-Manhattan) for 7th Aug. Haven't decided for sure which one I'll take.

I get your point on the Corvette and agree 100%. However,

1. I'm more keen on driving the Camaro (been wanting to for a long time)
2. Am more nervous about binning a 400hp Corvette (vs. a 300hp Camaro)

If you can move it by a couple of weeks then I'm in. I will try to rope in Ananth and Bhupi as well.

Ok. Now I'm spoilt for choice... I've got 3 cars booked - The Camaro, the Corvette and a Merc C300. Decisions decisions.

Oh, and here's something interesting. The Corvette is working out the cheapest.

Guys, if the plan is to move it out by a few more weeks, could you propose a date as well?
