Thanks Fazal for posting the link here. It sounds like a fun event to attend (me purely as a spectator - except for the food!).

I wish the event every success.

Cheers,

April 3rd meet- music nite!

guys, a few of us met up this weekend to finalise the menu for the 3rd. We met up with a Khansama who Arun had arranged, and he has given us an idea of the costing and the menu.

The menu is as follows:

1. Tala gosht
2. Appollo Chicken (no, this is not a Chinese or American dish)
3. Hariyali Kabab (veg)
4. Veg shikampuri
5. Mutton Biryani
6. Veg Biryani
7. Bagara Baigan/ Mirchi Salan
8. Beetroot halwa (desert- this was recommended by the khansama)

we will be getting costing from the tent walas for the gaddas, sheets etc. and will post the balance amount that every one has to pay, but by the looks of it, it should be well within the originally budgeted amount.

look out for updates.....

update on the 3rd April meet

Avi and I were finalising the plans today.

The cook's price(food and utensils) has been negotiated downwards from 15k to 12k.

Ghazal singer is 12k

society charges to Devidas' apartment society- 2k

approx cost for cold drinks and chips- 2k
total 26k

Evening with great friends, music and food- priceless

cost per head based on previous confirmations(26- we are not counting kids- they come for free- and NO, we are not talking about mental age, in case some of you may want to try and slip in for free) 1100/-.

Avi will be PMing a few people to collect money from those who ive in their area. We need all teh money collected by 29th March, since the singer and the cook need to be paid in advance.

Thanks

Himanshu

Himanshu... Congrats on the upgrade on status buddy.

Hey have we added the cost of hiring out the Mattresses(Diwans)/Sheets etc? Seems to be missing from the above calculation.

As pointed out by Suren, the cost of the mattresses is not taken into consideration.

What 12K asked by the cook includes is :-

Food
Hot Pots
Table to keep utensils

2K for chips etc. is exorbitant. Unless Himanshu plans to eat only chips etc. for entire meet duration.

So essentially, the 2k will take care of chips et all and the mattresses. So bhai log, 26K would be the final cost.

Can someone do the head-count again?

Rajesh bhai can u take up money collection for Hitec city?

Milecruncher for Begumpet and further areas?

Folks, please coordinate with respective folks and pay up in next 2-3 days.

I have 11.5K with me that we collected during the last drive meet. If i dont get the remaining money in 2-3 days, then think of that money no longer yours and will be contributed to Avi Selfless Foundation

avi- 2K is for cold drinks and chips.

between 30 people for a long evening, you can easily expect to consume about 15 2L bottles of coke, so @ 75 bucks a bottle, that alone is 1125 bucks.

ans you would need about 5-6 packs of chips, which at hot chips cost about 40 rs. per 250 gms pack., so thats about 240 bucks.

I dont think you can get mattresses, sheets and cushions in the remaining 700 bucks, so we may need to revise the per head cost by about 50 bucks per head, after someone gets a price froma tent walaah.

so wasooli agents, please hold off on your collection drives till we have a quote for the mattresses as well.

A suggestion:

Let us collect 1500/- from each, some amount needs to be expended on other misc. items (eg. fruit & milk for our MC). Balance can be returned at the venue.

Cheers,

Cheers,
actually Avi and I discussed on these lines as well.

one thought is to collect 1500 and if at the end of the day, any balance will be retuned in multiples of 100 and the remaining amount used to settle a food bill in the next team bhp dinner meet.

what say?

I am sure no one will crib over 25-30 rupees per head.

OK...the Venue, menu and cost is set(well almost). I did not want to add my 2 cents when you gents were posting, but I agree with Himanshu on the soft drink/chips part. There will be need for bottled water, if it has not been taken into taken into consideration.

Since I will be out of town, from Wednesday evening, will drop the payment 1500/- per head with MC. You guys can decide what will be the final cost.

Guys,

Things seem on course, Yes the bottled water is very important to dilute alcohol and other thirst needs, esp after biryani. Are there a couple of waiters to stand behind the counter for serving included?

As planned.... Gaddas and high pillows for leaning (as the evening progresses the angle of leaning increases) are also appropriate for the ambience. Hotpots needed, tables are not required as this place has many lovely granite counters for serving food and drinks.

Why not pick up Gajra's (Motia) @ Rs.10 per ladi, from Raytu bazar Mehdipatnam, to add more flavour?
Khubani ka meetha with malai or fresh cream beats all deserts.
Appollo chicken does not with this authentic do, this can be replaced by Murg Musallam.

Tala huva Gosht needs some kind of roti for accompaniment, instead of Taal Huva Gosht why not mutton haleem? as this is a complete (Hyderabadi) dish by itself and not available all year except, Ramadan.

Menu posted by Avinash and Himanshu:

1. Tala gosht
2. Appollo Chicken (no, this is not a Chinese or American dish)
3. Hariyali Kabab (veg)
4. Veg shikampuri
5. Mutton Biryani
6. Veg Biryani
7. Bagara Baigan/ Mirchi Salan
8. Beetroot halwa (desert- this was recommended by the khansama)

Another important component not mentioned is the sound system which needs to be hired by us, a good quality with echo chamber etc. which will cost 2k+
Raavendrraa's suggestion at Tawakkal, that we should pool in 1500 per head ,,, is ON TARGET.
Next we can plan a CHOWKI DINNER.

Lastly are other non-T-BHP singles/ couples allowed in this do?
Regards,

Regards,
Fazal sahab as per the new posting rules, discussions on anything related to Alcohol is BANNED. Avi and Ravveendrra have just expired their infractions and I don't think they would like it again and for that matter of fact, neither would you.

The pictures of various food items has got my mouth watering. I leave the decision regarding menu on all you true blooded Hyderabadi's.

NON-BHPians are always welcome but we need to plan that in our numbers, hence early confirmation helps in organising.

BTW what is this CHOWKI DINNER?

OT: Since my move to Hyderabad and joiningT-BHP I'm moving between meets, mini-meets, micro-meets and dinner meets. I'm Loving It ( McD tone)

P.S.: Is this Pakistani Actress really the Ghazal Singer???
