Guys Pulicat is BORING. We have already done it last year - Arka, Nitrous, Myself, Narayan and the usual 2 [i forget their handles - Mandeep and Vinay i guess] came along.

That was the send off for Narayan before he left for Delhi..

lets meet at KartAttack, kart for a while and take some pictures there. there is a nice place on top were we can also sit... sat evening will be crowded, so a early sunday evening will be good. say 4pm- the light will be enough for a shoot and there will be enough time to KArt as well...

The south end of Pulicat lake

It may not be as boring, if we did it from the south end.

But , I am talking from an off-roading perspective : we may need to park the cars at some place on the way and continue on the 4WDs.

Route options :

1. NH5 upto Gummidipoondi, and then take a right towards Therunattam ( this option is marked by the blue line in the pic below : the red line shows the usual route after crossing Tada)

.

2. Reach Kattivakkam (beyond Ennore Thermal Power station North Chennai) : and then explore the way to the beach : continue driving along the beach to reach the place where the Pulicat lake meets the sea. This should present a good photoshoot opportunity as well (but only with the 4WDs !).

DISCLAIMER

I have never been there myself : routes mentioned above are just suggestions and not based on actual experience.
This is a place I always have been wanting to go in the Gypsy, but somehow haven't got around to doing it yet.

I concur.
Nothing to do.
And the 4x4 terrain is not my kind, either. I've only had experiences on such soft muddy, slushy terrain. Once stuck, you get stuck till the chassis is beached on the clay-ish mud and it slowly starts cementing on the vehicle.

The last time(think it will be my last always)in such condition, recovery started on a vehicle at ~1PM.It went on till 12AM and by then, all hopes were lost and the vehicle was abandoned for the night. It was rescued the next day with a tractor or a crane, i believe.

How about a 4x4 trail guys?

I think i'll back off if its pulicat, John, whatever, however, we plan, the place looks nice on paper but is useless is my view. And it is HOT and sultry as well..

The only positive note is that i could demonstrate powerslides in my gypsy as last time again

Welcome to TBhp Yuvraj and Ramesh

Birding seems nice idea, but what is the weather? - I think monsoon is better than hot and humid summer, might get some breeze if the plan is made at the right time of the day. Actually evenings might be good, so the drive back will have to be @ Night.
