I would suggest the reverse if you want to climb up Gingee fort (the view from the top is highly recommended) They close at 4 or so in the evening, and you need at least an hour for the whole place - climbing itself takes 20-30 minutes, and is best done without too much sun.

I second greenhorn here. Climbing gingee in the morning makes more sense than afternoon. It provides lots of photo ops as well in the morning.

Okay, its Friday morning now and we see total 9 people looking for option 1.

so here we go,


Option 1:
ECR only: If the majority of members wants only a half day(a bit more) relaxed drive then lets go for Alamparai, in which case we can visit Alamparai and on the way back have lunch in Moonrakers, Mahabs.

Lets not rule out options 2 & 3 completely.



Timing remains unchanged as of now.

When: 8th March - Saturday
ETD : 6.30am from ECR - Sholingnallur Check post
ETA : 7.00pm at same point as above.(Same Day Return)

I was planning for the same destination (Vedanthangal + Alamparai) with my family & friends on Saturday
If possible, we will have a chat & photoshot at Alamparai.

PS: my ride is Flamenco Red Fiat Linea with T-BHP stickers on both reg plates.

Going by the trend it would be mostly option 1. In which case should we change the timings ?
Meet by 8:30 am. Start at 9. Reach destination by 10:30/11am. Spend an hour or one and half. Start at 12:30 and reach mahabs by 1:15 have lunch. Spend some time there and reach sholinganallur by 3:30/4pm. What say ? This way we need not stop over for breakfast assuming everybody would have had breakfast at home. :-)
