Couldn't make it to the last meet as I was out of town. September 1st or 2nd sounds good. I'll definitely make it then. It should be my first meet. Looking forward to it.

Hi,
A few suggestions for the drive from my side
1. Pichavarm - 200km one way. Excellent ecr till pondy. Bad roads from pondy till end of cuddalore. Mix of decent and excellent roads from there. Advantage- Non veg lovers have the option of having lunch at jayarams mess in puthur.
2. Alamparai - 100km one way. On ecr. Good spot for people who love sand sun and the sea.
3. Nagalapuram - 100km one way. Roads are not too good. It is basically a trekking spot.

Please chip in with your options as well.

My choice would be 1st Sep so that my bones get rest on my only weekly off.
Yelagiri sounds good, so does Pulicat and Alamparai.

All of these are long drives - are we talking of only petrolheads in the meet or the better halves and families as well?

By the way - where can I see the poll? Please enlighten.

You could get your family, better half, secret half etc - no issues as long as we dont create a social menace.

I believe that thread is being created by the thread owner and we should wait for it to appear!

I drove from Chidambaram to Chennai, a week back on the ECR. The roads are mostly good from Chidambaram to Cuddalore. From Cuddalore to Pondy, the roads are excellent as it is tarred very recently. Pondy-Chennai is good as usual.

Excellent. Now i prefer the pichavaram plan. It should take max of 3 to 3.5 hours to reach pichavaram(With stops for photos in between). Actually alamparai can be included into pichavaram drive.

A rough itenary if i may (i know! I am over enthusiastic. Its ecr after all )

7 am
assemble at a common meeting point- something like madya kailash

8.30 am
Stop for breakfast and coffee at kalpakkam and photo sessions along the route after breakfast.

10.30 am
Reach pichavaram and the interested parties may go for the boat rides. Others may stay back and chat,exchange contacts etc.

12.30pm-1.00pm
Start from pichavaram and reach jayaraman's mess in puthur in approx half hour. Have absolutely amazing non veg meals over there. (Place of lunch can be changed according to members preference).
If we are not having lunch at puthur we can start from pichavaram at 12.30pm and reach mahabs before 3pm and have a late lunch there.

6pm
Assemble back in madya kailash, say bye to fellow bhpians and leave for our respective houses!!

Wow !!! What a plan !! Anand, if there is anything like this, you have to be awarded the most enthusiastic member of this forum. Wish you were there a few years back, we could have had several drives after a breakfast at Krishna Cafe.
