It is less than 5kms from Thiruvanmiyur. Have a good time..

The Kottivakkam beach is at..well..Kottivakkam

Kottivakkam is about 3-4 kms further from Thiruvanmiyur on the ECR towards Pondicherry. The entrance to the beach from the ECR has an arch, IIRC.

these are separate beaches, me thinks.

The red circle is Thiruvanmiyur busdepot, the red rectangle is Thiruvanmiyur beach and the blue rectangle is the Kottivakkam beach.

Sorry my bad, we were discussing about kottivakkam beach last weekend while at thiruvanmiyur beach. I should have misunderstood. Or did I??

I think it is somewhere in between the Thiruvanmiyur and Kottivakkam beaches, but more towards Kottivakkam. I had been there few years ago, but then , I was blindly following instructions to that place in the night, so dont remember the exact location (with reference to the Kottivakkam beach) now.

Kotivakkam beach is the left turn after KUN hyundai service center isnt it? Theres an arch where you have to take a left, comes after the kotivakkam bus stop.
Thiruvanmiyur beach is the left at the thiruvanmiyur RTO.

If what i mentioned is what nitrous did as well, then the last time I was there it was rather dirty over there. The good part is that theres a bit of a clearing where you can drive the car into and park some distance from the water.

Thiruvanmiyur beach is always nice. If you keep heading down the beach towards the paintball place there are quiet places with enough space to park a lot of cars and settle down and chat.

@nitrous - What about a pondi encore sometime?

Not of it is the one with Bella Ciao (which I think it is), no.

The Arch leads to what I think is Pallavakam Beach. Quite a nice stretch of beach, relatively quiet, no restaurant.

Kottivakam beach is the turn after RTO; there is, I think, a sign, Hale and Hearty Hospitals and I think it is called New Beach Road.

Bella Ciao is at 12°58'20"N 80°15'53"E

It looks like I'm guaranteed to get lost, so I may as well stop worrying about which beach it is for now and worry only on Sunday!

That google map posted above was helpful. And I also know where Bella Ciao is. Will wait for Nitrous to clarify which beach he meant.
