I see due to COVID a lot of folks have moved back and see good chunk of BHPians in and around Puttur/Mangalore/Udupi? Anyone planning for a meet?Good conversation over Goli Baje(or Lunch?) will be good I guess . Since we have weekend lockdown, may be weekday meet(possibly evening) or weekend if COVID shows us some mercy.

Sulya CCD will make for a good drive, has lots of parking and not much crowded.

CCD Sullia is unlikely to serve dishes listed in this thread!
Nevertheless, can we keep bit of longer window of planning as it may lead to better participation.

My two cents,

Timeline- three to four weeks from now.
Places- any place within 60-80 km radius with good food option.

With limited activity in the thread, I have a proposal. I would be more than happy to host you guys at my place for a 'mini' meet-up. This way you guys can have a 50-60 kms drive, we all can meet-up at a quiet less-crowded place and I will ensure that atleast one of the dishes in the list will be served homemade!

Large number of members are from Udupi and Mangalore. If you pick Sullia, that is 3 hour drive from Udupi. If you want maximum participation, find a place that is equidistant from Udupi and Mangalore.

Currently, both DK and Udupi have weekend curfew. That kind of rules out of long drive to reach the destination since many wouldn't want to drive far under curfew conditions. We haven't had a major coastal meeting since pandemic for these reasons.

BTW, I am in Bangalore next two weeks, so I won't be able to make it.

Agree. Updating location and timeline to avoid confusion. Curfew is in place till Sep 13th and hoping COVID situation does get better.

Weekend Curfew in both districts is still an issue, I don't see how we can drive that far without getting into trouble with police. Only doctors can drive without restrictions. So don't expect much response for a large meet.

If you can have small localized meet, you will have better chance.

Some us who stay closeby plan to meet on Sep 10th evening at Sullia. Folks are welcome to join. If weekend curfew is lifted, we can continue with plan for meet in Mangalore, which is convenient for many.
