Thank you all for such a wonderful meet. The place was surely a hidden treasure though next to the highway. The walk around, the houses, the peacocks, the river, everything was perfect along with perfect company. Looking forward to more such meets.

It was a wonderful meet after long gap

It was a wonderful to meet after a long gap. Though on a short notice. 10 bhpians turned out for the meet. It was wonderful to meet fast elegance and Ashton for the first time.

The meet began with everybody meeting at Pavithram hotel for a cuppa of chai/kapi at Mukka, Surathkal near the Srinivas colleges. Bon bon, the original meeting point had closed down and Pavithram was a last minute shift.

Again change of plans led us to our next surprise, much welcome location. Original plan was to hit the beach nearby - Sasihitlu. But, being a Sunday, beach would be crowded and parking would be a trouble. So, we decided to hit the riverside instead. The location was Mulky, about 10kms north, by the Shambhavi riverside. This was close to Samurai’s ancestral home. It turned out to be a hidden gem just off the NH66 that we pass ever so often but were not aware.

After all the posing for pics, we headed back to Surathkal - Red rock hotel to fuel up our bellies. Good times flyby and before we knew, it was time to return home.

All the while, discussion meandered about our steeds, a very special S(uper) cross , slicvic’s new Thar, cetane boosting, Covid, our professional lives (6docs in the group!), kayaking, aquatic life in Shambhavi river and what not.

It was good to meet after a long time.

Hello Fellow BHPians from Mangalore -

This meet was super, I'm actually traveling from Delhi to Mangalore and shall be based out of Shaktinagar for the next 2-3 weeks.

I am actually scouting for a site as I intend to settle in Mangalore in the next 2-3 years. Did check out the Yamuna Asha City, which seems to be a big farce as the site size listed on the brochure is not adding up to what I saw at the layout.

Guy's based out of Mangalore, I'll be thankful for a lifetime of you may provide any insights on what can be checked out in Mangalore from a residential and settlement perspective, more inclined towards a proper layout. Not too inclined towards the city.

Have been to, Gajalee, Madhuvan Village and Chitrapura beach.

Open to look at Udupi, Suratkal and around places as well.

Guys, the purpose of this thread was exactly that. The thread was created on Sept 6th with more than 2 weeks notice about the meet. In future, keep an eye on the meet section. That is how you will find out.

It's a big farce, as you rightly said. Raheja builders, at one point in time, plans to build a small township there which was supposed to have a shopping complex, gymnasium and sports complex, but abandoned it after building two skyscrapers under Raheja Waterfront name in Chitrapura. They are selling off the land part by part after plotting it.

About 10-11 years ago, when we had decided to move to Mangalore from Gujarat and were to decide between booking a flat or purchasing land & building a house, we strongly considered Raheja Waterfront. Glad we didn't book it, because it turned out to be a big disappointment. Glad we went the purchase land & build a house route back then.

Have you looked at Northern Skyfield Meadows behind NITK Suratkal?
