Quick meets in and around London

It all started with a comment from Team Bhpian Dry Ice on my Range Rover Sport ownership thread and then I came to know that he stays in Reading, which is about forty odd miles from my place. It was a good opportunity for a drive and meet. Lockdown has been eased here in the UK, so I told Dry Ice that I could drive down to Reading and have a quick catchup. It has been a very long time since I have met any Bhpian. Last one was in 2019 with Cloudmobile_deb and Uprasenjit. So last evening, after office, Dry Ice and I met at a park in Reading. It was great catching up with him and the added bonus was that he speaks fluent Bengali It was good to converse in my mother tongue!

I think there are many Bhpians in and around London. We can use this thread for quick meets.

Thank you for coming down! It was a pleasure to meet you.

And also great to see the legend in person. Defender I mean

Congratulations on fulfilling a long cherished dream and wish you many miles of happiness with it (of course not in a single stretch)!!

Team-Bhp meets around the world are nice!

Apologies, But what qualifies this specific thread to be a “Hot Thread?”

Successful meets are always on the home page, and there's nothing wrong I feel.

Shows the brotherhood among us enthusiasts!

OT@Blackpearl, when did the defender arrive!?! I only knew of the Range Rover!

Thanks for sharing. The Defender looks s-o-l-i-d!
Any pics of Dry Ice’s ride?

Me too surprised (pleasantly, though) on seeing a Defender!
When did this happen, Sumitro?

Re: Quick meets in and around London

Since COVID I haven't had as much opportunity to make my way down to London as I normally do but hopefully as things get back to normal I should be making much more regular trips, both for work and to visit friends and family. Would love to catch up with any BHPians there - similarly if any happen to be up north round about Manchester, that would be something worth looking at. Always happy to show folks around and shoot the breeze.

I too had only seen the threads of the Range Rover Sport. This Defender looks like one of the last batches of the original spec model - they're incredibly sought after. Someone in my building has an almost identical 90 series Defender with the snorkel as well, only difference being it's in black.

I'm also in London. Haven't gotten a chance to attend any TBHP meets yet so would be happy to meet BHPians here in London and those willing to come down here.

Thanks JoshMachine! Dry Ice has been on and off in the UK, so he is yet to buy a car. We have to push him to buy one before the next meet

Great, let's plan for something after May 17th once the last phase of lockdown is over. If you have a tentative date and place, please feel free to post. I am always up for a meet with fellow Bhpians.

We have just got the Defender. It is a 2014 model.

I'm available between 17th and 25th May but will be busy post that as I'll be preparing for my exams in June. Anywhere in London is fine so long as it's accessible by public transport since I don't have a car here.

Re: Quick meets in and around London

Hey Everyone,

I have recently relocated to London & looking for similar minds to meet! Let know if any Bhpian meet is happening or we could schedule one.

I live in Woolwich Arsenal (South East London) but okay to travel as long as the place is accessible through public transport.

Best,
Sagar

Hi Sagar, welcome to the UK. I stay in West London but am now out of the country on vacation. Will surely meet once we go back.
