Some of us are planning to go to Skandagiri hills on 20th early morning we need to be on the top by 6:30 as it is a 2 hour walk we need to be there in the foothills by 4:30 any one interested

people confirmed till now,

please understand we need to be at the foothills by 4:30 in the morning not evening so please confirm keeping in mind you are leaving home early and not to miss sunrise by 6:40 on saturday.

Since i will be in foothills of Nandi for pooja the previous night (Shivarathri) it will not be an issue for me and will join you guys there

Isn't Shivarathri on the friday the 12th of February? At least my calender says so.

hey Shivratri is on 12th not on 19th..... or you want to celebrate it week long?

Dont miss the Sunrise Guys!!! Have already been here and too lazy to do the trek again. Be suitably clothed as it would be very cold on top.

and yeah, it would be a circus out there on top

Ok. Same here. I was hoping it was this weekend. But then was contended that it was on the 20th.

But now, when you mentioned Shivratri, I am confused.

BarCode, do you mean 12th. Confirm asap, cause in that case I need to give my car for service and buy a canon DSLR by then. ;-)

Date 13th morning near the foothills of Skandagiri

If guys find 4:30 too early there is an another option we can go there previous evening watch the sunset stay back till morning watch the sunrise and come back (note we can expect lot of people on top as my friend said) ,

campfire will be great, i think that will be great what say guys

How much time will it take to go on top KRRAJ , just wanna make sure we reach at the right time

It would take around 2 hours to reach the top. Maybe earlier if you are quick, but would advise against it as the trek would look deceptively easy.

I would advise a much earlier start than 4:30AM just to be safe. If you guys are so inclined, then you can start from Bangalore around 10:00 PM, meet up at one of the CCDs and make sure you reach the base by 2:00 AM. Regroup and start the trek by 2:30 AM.

Take Torches as if it is not a full moon, the visibility would be low. And Again, make sure you are clothed well as it is very chilly on top.

Guys, i think the idea suggested by KRRaj is the best. Let us all meet at some CCD on the way by around 10:00, then move on from there.
