Saw the message from McLaren at around 8:00 pm sitting at office, and was ready to go for it.
But then I didn't have the numbers of the people joining and so put a post to PM me the number. While checking the Satyam news in CNBC and any incoming PM in TBHP, clock turned past 10:10.
Now if I don't start now, I will not be able to reach by the stipulated time, so just based on beginner's luck pulled out my Safari and started towards Mysore Road.
As I heard NICE road - Bannerghata road intersection is not yet done, thought I will follow my usual route by ORR. Little did I realise that there are some road work going on and thus forced to divert into the bylanes of JP Nagar and Padmanabha Nagar. Friday night, with very few vehicle in road to follow, lost my way in those, and while retracing back my way, my heart was pounding fast that will I be able to make it?
From my previous experience from Kanua meet, I was counting on the Indian Strecheble Time followed by TBHPians. Now after completing the full horse shoe turn in NICE junction, saw there are no cars waiting!
Checked the watch - 11:10. Standing in the side of the road, without any numbers to connect. Then tried the luck, called home and asked wife to check if there is any PM. And voila, there is a PM from Thadu giving his numbers.
So I call, and apologingsly asked whether you guys have already left, while contemplating between the options to proceed and meet at the CCD, or return back from there. And relieved to know that they are yet to arrive and will be there by another 30-45 min.
So finally a red Elantra pulled over, and McLarren got down. Rajiv also came down. We were chatting and waiting for others to join, and another Red Elantra came by - Satya, Thadu and Vijay in it.
So we start, two red Elantras and the black safari. And the elantra's tail lights keep going farther and farther from me. We stopped in Barista, before Maddur; and I was hogging the chats more than the coffees and sandwitches.
Started back around 3:00 from there, and Vijay came with me. Again we lost the Elantra's in no time, but maintained a steady pace to reach back Vijay's place around 4:00 am.
I thoroughly enjoyed the night. Thanks Thadu, Vijay, Satya, Rajiv and Rahul.

Hey guys,

I missed out on this trip. Will certainly join you guys for the next trip that's planned. Here's a suggestion - How about a drive on the Republic Day weekend or on Republic Day itself?

I hope something comes of it. Will subscribe to this thread so that I'm updated.

i was told there is a vintage car rally happening on 26th , so may be we can catch that ? or if anybody is intrested there is a small picnic tsd rally on sunday , all of us can take part , its a fun thing , street cars and bikes allowed.
