Anywhere around Mysore would be perfect for me! Even though I'm from Mysore, its been ages since I've visited any interesting places nearby

Doesn't these places except for Krishnagiri dam take a couple of hours journey? These places would surely eat away more than half a day for sure.

Moving myself to tentative, as time is a constraint.

Re: Quick Meets at Bangalore

I think we should find something within 100kms, else more time would be spent on driving and lesser time on the actual meeting. Just my 2cents.

A friend who'd been to Mekedatu a week ago said it's not completely dry, and the waters were at least knee-deep.

You guys can also try Ramadevarabetta. Its hardly 50km from Bangalore. The exit just before Ramnagar town. There is a temple at the top. You can climb up further and end up at the top.
And if the place is green (which I think it should be now, but slowly fading), you should be treated to some good views of the monoliths.

For food, need I say anything?
And to add to it a moment to re-live the trivia of the movie Sholay !

This is not like Makalidurga, where you have to trek. But yes you have climb may be 50-60 steps. Its not that difficult ! You WILL have to burn some calories though!
