Final list of entrants closing by end of today. Whoever is joining in, Hurry up, offer open till stocks last!
I'm informing the Speedway facility manager about the final headcount by tonight, so I will be freezing the headcount as per the list here at 8PM. This is to enable them to plan the event better, since our group number is pretty high.
People joining in the list later than tonight are welcome to join the meet (breakfast + karting venue + lunch), but may not get a chance at both go-karting and the ATV ride.
Information on the Karting / ATV venue for the benefit of those who are not aware : About the facility :
- located on Mysore road after Ramanagaram town (opposite Janapada Loka and Kamat Lokaruchi), ~50 km from NICE road / Mysore road intersection
- opens at 9:30AM on weekends
- has adequate car parking facility for 30+ cars (clarifies a doubt asked by CrazyDriver earlier on this thread)
- has basic refreshments such as cool drinks, cold water, over-the-counter snacks, etc.
Go-Karting :
- They have 5 karts at our service
- Track length is ~700m (comparable to E-zone Torq03 track at Marathahalli)
- Karting is priced at Rs. 179/- per head. This includes 3 laps. Whoever wants additional time can buy extra tickets for themselves.
- Karts are powered by 200cc Honda engines and are rated at 9.5 BHP and 80 kmph top speed.
ATV :
- There are 5-6 ATVs of 2 categories - one type is a 150cc ATV and another is a 250cc ATV.
- The off-road track length is ~800m and 1 lap takes around 10 minutes for an average newbie rider.
- The 150cc ATV ride is priced at Rs. 219 /- and the 250cc ATV ride is priced at Rs. 249 /-.
- helmets and gear will be provided on the spot
I have worked out a discount rate with the facility, which will work out to approx 300 per head for both put together. If any of you want to have a second go at karting, the extra tickets will have to be purchased separately. I'm negotiating with them to throw in an extra lap for all the participants (4 instead of 3)
General guidelines :
- Unless you have done karting earlier, please avoid overconfidence and driving too rash. They have a
you-bang, you-pay policy at the place. If you are familiar with karting, FLOOR IT, DRIFT IT, do what you want!
- Some ladies (spouses) or children may be on the track at crawling pace at the same time as you. Please observe caution when approaching / overtaking slower, less experienced karters.
- Consider carrying your own helmets/gloves in your cars if you don't want to use publicly used (sweaty!) helmets at the facility. Helmets are compulsory for both go-karting and ATV rides
- We are making sure everyone gets a ride of both Go-karting and ATV rides. In order to facilitate all 40 people to have a go at both these fun sports within the 4 hours that we have, we might need to simultaneously start off both sports; once done with their respective rides, the ATV guys can later interchange into karts, and vice versa.
- All extra (second, third) repeat tickets for go-karting and ATVs will be allowed only after the entire group has completed their chance at both sports.
- The karting will happen with 5 karts on the track simultaneously. Ditto with the ATVs. Please do await your turn as I try to group people into batches of 5 each. Priority will be given to some BHPians who may want to leave from the place earlier than the others due to other commitments.
- Last but not the least, enjoy yourselves!

I'll post any more updates that I have by evening.
Whoever wants profile pictures for FB/T-bhp while driving karts on the track, or on ATVs, catch hold of mugshot expert IronH4wk on sunday. He is planning to charge 100 Rs. per head for profile picture photography *rofl*
