Varkala and Beypore was just a thought which occurred to me. I am also not keen to visit either due to the hectic driving which we will have to endure to reach there.
Munambam or andhakaranazhi will be the first choice in case of going to a beach. Even there, I am not sure how we will find shelter in case of rain.

Marari can also be considered.

URGENT ATTENTION

One guy who visited Vagamon last weekend updated me on the below. Any means of re-validating the second point,

• Vagamon was cloudy and drizzled but no heavy rains
• Erattupetta - Vagamon road works going on due to which traffic control is there except on Sunday (Looks like We are not affected!)
• Roads are ok, not best though

Any plan B is fine with me, I would prefer a ~100KM drive else it would end up a race as Speed.Demon pointed out.

Plan B - Marari/Arthunkkal Beach (Anoop, you can get to drive for around 20 kms )
Reporting Venue - Just before the NH Toll, near Ramada Resorts
Need to fix the time for this. No point in going to the beach in the morning. I would suggest that we leave couple of hours before lunch, grab a bite and then head for the beach.

If it's plan B, maybe I can get a good deal for lunch at a resort. Let me know.

With the unpredictability of monsoons, plan B suddenly looks more viable and attractive to me.
More so for me cos, dragging my two kids early in the morning for the drive will be more of a pain to me. In between the curvy roads, if nature's call strike for them or if they get sick, I am gonna drag you all slower . A humble admission.
On the same lines and same reasons, as now we have enough people who knows the route, I would like to be the sweeper to bring up the rear.

Irrespective of all that, I will still come if its Plan A too. Vagamon drive with 14 Bhpians is too juicy to be let off

Yes Naveen, I also thought that we had initially decided the meeting point to be the stretch after Irumpanam Toll

Plan A it is. Plan B is our last option. But Naveen i want to know, how are we going to decide when to scrap vagamon and choose Plan B. I guess if it isn't raining heavily on saturday evening then we should go ahead with Vagamon.. I guess we need to entrust that responsibility to Jacs.

Plan A IS the confirmed option, plan B is just as a backup in case Vagamon becomes too un driveable.

Well Jacs can update on the weather conditions for Vagamon.

Lets all decide on Saturday, whether its plan A or B.

The final decision can be posted here and a notification will be sent to everyone who has sent their numbers to Naveen.

I was searching the weather forecasts for all important touch points in our map and result is very disappointing . However we'll keep a tab till Saturday morning and decide?

Also I have requested a friend in Pala to fetch me more details by Friday.

@Dhanush, Jain - I thought mini bypass would be ideal since we can avoid the Petta stretch and also mini bypass got many vacant spots for us to wait for others and get ready for the drive. Anything would do. Let's confirm on that so that everyone will be updated. Dhanush, do let us know which works best.

@Jacs - Dude, you will be the weatherman. Your job would be to check with the local people on the weather and whether it's safe for the drive . Based on your expert advice, we shall decide whether it's Plan A or B.
