OK here is the initial deal with Sunny

Per Person : Rs. 650
Min Count : 40 people (even if 38 turns up, we will have to pay for 40)
Includes : Two Veg and Two Non-Veg assorted starters, One Veg, One Non-Veg and Daal in main course, Roti, Naan, Rice. All unlimited
Excludes : Mineral Water & Cold Drinks

Given that most of us prefer Sunny, I would like to take a call based on response, and if required we will talk to other venue.

By the way, for those who dont know, Sunny has been a preferred location because it is in center for both mumbai and pune guys, and because of its food, and this would be our third meet there.

But if it is the third time, why not ask him to be a little nicer and reduce the prices a little bit? Heck we might even make this an annual meeting place and fix a day of the year when every TBHPian meets up here!

There would easily be more than 55 person & many of them haven't put forward their name but definitely would be there. So can you get even different deal as the number of people increases/present at meet on 16 June'12.

Is there by any possibility, if you could upload a snapshot/pdf of À la carte menu, so if someone wants to go with separate could know how much big hole Sunny will make in his pocket.

Sagar, I feel that A la carte and bill per table would be a better idea, considering that we have a large no. of groups coming in. In anycase we will be paying for the other things individually so might as well have an option to order separately per table.

The pricing is on the steeper side, not that I am complaining as even the A la carte would land up with the same bill individually, but we would have options to pick and choose.

Sunny seems to be the final venue and we should lock it.

Guys, last year he quoted us Rs. 900 per head but we chose a-la-carte, and in 2009 we paid Rs.650 and that was including unlimited mineral water and cold drinks. I dont mind going for a-la-carte. However, he mentioned that, if you need service till late night like last year (2am) he would charge Rs. 200 per person extra. I straight away refused it and asked him to provide service till 12.30am, having said so, we can occupy the place till late.

Though it is a Dhaba, it is way too ahead from dhaba standards and is at par with at least 4*. Their simple veg or non-veg starter dish is well above Rs.250-300 and going by that Rs. 650 per person is a very good deal. Many people here who attended the last meets, can vouch for that. Besides that, Sunny can reduce the price by 50 bucks if we give him assured count of 50+, but i wouldn't do that, you cant be sure about kalti kings

Do you remember that 3 years back you had tough time settling the bill at Sunny due to the other items ordered by members other than fixed menu?
If sunny allows other own items, then fixed price will be best.
If Sunny settle for Rs600 for food plus soft drinks and allows other own items, then only go for it.
If no other own items, then go for a-la-carte.

A-la-carte was even more messy, I know few who paid Rs. 1000 just bcoz they were sitting on that table and didnt even had their dinner, just snacks. Rs. 650 is same deal as 2009. I would strongly recommend to go for fixed menu.
