Mumbai-Pune joint meets are always super fun. As expected,yesterdays one was nothing different.
It was nice to meet a lot of new members,old friends. Also got the opportunity to meet GTO for the first time.It was nice chatting with you Had some really interesting discussions.

It was raining cats and dogs in Bombay yesterday...even my flight got delayed by 90 minutes due to heavy traffic at Mumbai airport. I was coming from Trivandrum and heading towards Delhi via Mumbai stopover.

This was my first meet, I reached at around 10.30pm by then the party was in full flow. First of all it was difficult to identify bhpians from the crowd since it was heavily crowded. Just to be honest I felt kind of left out and lonely Since people had already formed their groups. But anyways it was good to be out there among you guys even though I was not there for long since I had to go out.

Just read about the accident after this update on TBHP. One of the injured is Nikhil Karkare, a friend and college senior. The Phatak couple , Their daughter and son-in-law Nikhil had setup the school in Pune.

Have to find out how Nikhil is.

Buddy there is no such thing as left out. You have to join the group and start enjoying. Initially I was also in the same position as you. General guderian was kind enough to let me have a seat next him. Then I was part of the group. It was me, guderian,acm,noenthuda,procircuit and thewhiteknight in anti clockwise.

GTO came by and we were discussing about his merc, guderian's TFORT etc

It was an awesome meet. I didn't know the route to the venue.Our squadron leader DOT led the convoy and escorted by thewhitenight. I was in the middle of the convoy.

Return trip to PUNE was a different story, I didn't know the route again, I kept going straight and finally made it to Shivajinagar.

Great catching up with BHPians. I came in late along with Rahul, and the dhabha was overflowing with people. Had to wait for a while before getting a table. The food was good and the overall experience was very positive.

Hope that the next time I get more time (had to leave early this time).

There were quite a few photographers. Hope to see some more pictures coming up soon.

@selfdrive: Was looking forward to meet you, but was not sure if you were around. Maybe next time.

What a meet, guys! Thanks to all those who braved the weather & traffic to make it

5 Mumbai Mods were going to leave together; however, Manson & I got caught up at work. He came down my office at 1615 and off we were. Parel, Lalbaug, Dadar & Matunga were horribly flooded. Even the much-hyped new Parel flyover (only 4 days old!!) had its exit knee deep in water and was thus shut. It took us about 90 minutes to get to Kings Circle. Funnily enough, I stepped out for a Marlboro and Manson took over the wheel. One left into a lane and Manson didn't face any traffic behind the wheel at all. He had a great drive. Of course, it's a different story that when I took the wheel back on the expressway, we hit heavy traffic again!

We hit McD's at 1845 and just took a chance in stopping and looking for BHPians. Saw a clean OHC 1.5 with Vtec wheels and we knew it had to be a BHPian. A li'l after, a new'ish red Cedia with Team-BHP numberplate stickers arrived. Thanks to the ghat traffic, we reached Sunnys only aroung 2045. And the place was overflowing with BHPians already. The parking lot was full of BHP cars, while nearly the entire RHS of Sunny's restaurant area was occupied with BHPians. I was jumping from table to table for a major part of the evening and met with like 50 BHPians for the first time. Conversation topics ranged from Getz CRDis, pre-worshipped imports (the next big thing), Fortuner reliability, Maruti's deserved success, unnecessarily complicated Germans, the Team-BHP App, driving on the race track and lotsa modified cars. It was fantastic to have met with all of you from Mumbai & Pune. I've made a note of the suggestions that were shared, and will definitely try implementing the viable ones in the near future.

Also checked out several cars, including Saint's carefully done up Civic & MX6's Ikon with all 13 Team-BHP stickers. A small group spent a lot of time discussing the 525's clean lines, and how we're glad Bangle was booted out.

Other Non-BHPian guests at Sunny's Dhaba had free entertainment the entire evening...what with the n number of performance exhaust & audio demos.

Couple of us were the last to leave at about 0200 hours, and Stratos drove us safely home. Indian highways are a different breed in the middle of the night with absolutely zero traffic. Blissful drive.

sounds like this was plenty fun !!

some ideas: how about having a team bhp only party within mumbai. pick a venue, have a buffet or something like that. there are places one could hire for the evening and have it exclusively for BHP.

reading some of the posts, i think it would be cool to have labels with your T - bhp handles since it is a fairly anonymous community. otherwise these meets might get limited to existing groups that know each other interacting.

i associate the website completely with their handles and posts i've read so might help to have little labels around. also perhaps some way to encourage across the board interaction.

just some random spur of the moment thoughts reading some of the posts above.

Buddy, where are you? Completely AWOL? You were suppossed to start the Tapri meets in Mumbai and Monsoon is the right time for it.

A big +1 to your idea. Lets have a followup meet as I missed the original one.

Yes S_U_N; was very much around. But I arrived only about 9pm and was seated at the 1self table when I wasn't drooling over Saints Civic. Don't know how I missed bumping into you. We should indeed have name tags next time onwards. Look forward to meeting you next time
