Yep the route khoj has mentioned is better from the Western suberbs beyond andheri. Chembur is a nightmare these days, even if you do come from sion side you would have to bypass chembur via mankhud link road as right into chembur at priyadarshini is not permitted and right from amarmahal and kurla flyover though permitted are clogged in the evenings.

The traffice could be a bit lesser on sat evening compared to other days.

I leave around 4 pm from Goregaon east. I have Jitu with me, will proceed via JVLR-eastern express highway-airoli....to pick up RJK from ghansoli at 6 pm. After that manson joins in at MCD Panvel.

Ps - might detour to my home in powai for 5-10 minutes.

It is indeep raining very heavily in Bombay and Thane. So since Pune seems to be dry the rains should taper off after Lonavala? But will be very heavy on the Bombay side of the Ghats. (As per what we were tought about Pune and the Rainshadow region)

Visibility will indeed be poor on the highway if it continues to rain like this.

family is a lot more edgy now with all this continuous rain - urging me not to go in such downpur. Mumbai is flooded in places...I will decide at departure time only.

JVLR is flooded in patches - wifey just travelled to Powai. Loads of jams near the WEH and the Andheri MIDC and SakiNaka area.
