As Ashish rightly said, its roughly 24 kms from the toll on Old Bom- Pune highway.
The quality of food is obviously awesome- also the service was quick. And I mean QUICK by Dhaba standards.

IMP: Sunny DOES NOT accept cards! Be prepared with enough cash while leaving from Mumbai/Pune as the nearest ATM is in Lonavala (roughly 11kms from Sunny). Once bitten, twice shy!

The tentative plan is this:

West Pune folks meet up at Joshi Vadewale on the bypass and head to the venue via old Bom-Pune highway.
East Pune folks can meet up somewhere around Holkar bridge/ Nashik phata and head to the venue.
East meets West will happen just before the toll booth .

As throttle mentioned, last year megameet happened at Big Wheels.

Is there any cafe/hotel in Lonavala itself with proper parking?

Tony Da Dhabha is not at all bad. Visited quite few times. They also accept card and have ample parking place. However, quality has gown down over a period of time.

However the rates of Sunny have gone up like any thing, a normal paneer tikka costs aroung Rs. 260+ and chicken tikka is Rs. 290 and above. First of all he expressed difficulties in arranging this party on saturday, given that its a hot season for him, and Saturday appears to un-manageable for them (I saw this yesterday). Having said so, considering our past relation, and after hard negotiations he agreed to give us the same deal at Rs. 900 per head (He started with 1000). Another option is a-la-carte, and after much request he agreed to make an arrangement seperately for us, so that we reserved place to settle down. Also note that if we go for a-la-carte we need to buy everything from there and nothing is allowed from out side, those who attended last time knows it.

In my opinion going with arranged party option is better than a-la-carte. It saves us from many hassles, and can freely enjoy the time there, plus the food @sunny is worth. Your thoughts please!!!

Things are almost in finalization mode as far as Venue and a-la-carte is concerned , however would like to contribute my 2 cents.

Most of people are of Opinion that 900 is on higher side but food is very good (Never Tried it) and Big Wheels was already explored last time and not everybody liked food.

Will it be fine to explore a option just 30 Kms towards Pune from Exsting Location? (I understand - expectation of venue is SomeWhere Midway of Pune -Mumbai :: Ahoy- Ashish will be comming from 12mati ;-) ). So if Mumbai Crowd is open for 30 more kilometers, i will suggest "Barbeque nation @ Hinjewadi <Excellent Food and Excellent Variety at 550/600 - Non Negotiated.>". We can always go for Drive after Dinner / Lunch.

We can also Explore Lemon Tree infront of Infosys: Phase 1.

Pros Will Be

1. Excellent Food and Excellent Variety
2. Excellent Ambiance and Service.
3. Reasonable Pricing
4. Mumbai Crowd can Use "Express Highway"
5. No Order Tracking Hassles
6. Accepts Card

Cons

Extra 30 Kms Drive For Mumbai Guys
Lesser Drive distance for Pune Guys
No Dhaba Feel?

One query I had: When coming from Mumbai can one take the expressway exit from lonavala and then reach sunny dhaba?

My 2c: Going the Ala-carte way is a good option, but then the distribution of cost will be an issue. Eg: One bhpian may call for Non-veg. The other may not like to pay for it. And vice versa. I know that 900+ is on the higher side; still the way things will get managed will be worth that amount. There will be no confusion on cost breakup and one can eat whatever he/she wants.

At the end of this if anyone does not like to go for the 900+ option one can always order for himself separately.

What I feel is lets not mix this up too much and: Lets keep it simple.
