Honda CRV 2004, 2.4L, AWD, AT or NHC Automatic

Hi Guys,

Am Confused. There is one Honda CRV 2004 end model with 45000 km on odo standing with Auto Terrace in Ace Honda dealership. They are demanding 8 L for it, this would include transfer and one year insurance. They are giving 3 free service and a year warranty.

The other option is either NHC with auto at 9.31 on road or Old shape brand new zxi @ 7.31 from the show room.

I got front and side pics of the CRV vehicle, I can post if you guys want for further thoguht process.

Now what do you guys suggest.

BTW you guys wont have much time, since if confusion would prevail I would go and buy a second hand Alto - I am clear on tht - which is my plan B

i think this is the silver one,

i have driven the car and it seems in great condition for a 2004.

and also has a lot of frills (kenwood touch screen hu,reverse camera,roof racks,hid lamps,vip no)

however it seems to be a little over priced @ 8.0 lacs

see if you can bargain them to 7.25 - 7.50 and i think you will have a deal.

p.s.(if i remember correctly the tyres would need a change in another 5k kms max)

Well between the two i would personally take the NHC cause im not big on the used car bit.

And then again I would any day rather take the CIVIC E instead of the ANHC auto since the price difference is only 100k and change.

Ultimately its your need which you need to figure..

is the autobox compulsory,How many kms you drive a month,etc?

If you can afford the CRV, take it by all means. There is no comparison.

NHC or the ANHC are practical cars, fuel efficient, exact opposite of the CRV.

Go for the CRV if it's in such a good condition that you mentioned and if the dealer is giving 3 free service with 1 yr's warantty. It's a car of a different league and would give you unlimited satisfaction driving it. Also, there has been a recent price hike in the CRV, so when you sell it later, you might not loose out much. Also at 8L, it's a nice buy!
On the other hand, after driving a car like CRV, your next upgrade would have to be a real good one to keep you driving pleasure intact!

Offer 7.3, give your phone number / card and walk away.

CRV is a better bet than the NHC. ANHC is more pricey.

Same here. Getting to Civic range would mean I shud go for Corolla. We have automatic Corolla with us and trust me there is no space in Civic as compared to corolla.

This vehicle wud be for my wife, with me occasionally getting in to have my share of fun. The attractive feature of CRV to me is ... I am accustomed to higher cars like my Safari or Gurkha. And also they have space for my kids and occasionally my dog and cats.

Safari wont survive more than a year now I guess, its covered 65 K kms and I feel life oozing out of it.

hmmm. you mean CRV is an unpractical car?? Or you meant CRV is guzzler.

I guess after initial excitement CRV wud be only driving 16-30 kms a day at the max.

PS: My wifey killed the SWIFT ZXI 4 months back. The airbags saved her and my daughter. The car went for total loss. So I am thinking automatic one, and yes she loves driving the Corolla. She likes Gurkha but is not ready to accept it as her daily car. I wud have done that and looked forward to 611 Trax!!

CRV is a Fuel guzzler (Avergare6-7 KMPL)

If you are ok with it, than go for it, its a great SUV.

You can think of having CNG in CR-V !! also.

IMO between NHC & ANHC, NHC si the way to go. A great car, with great FE. A real city car.

CVT if available is worth buying.

Well went back this evening, they said it would be 8.40 on road which includes transfer + insurance for a year + 3 free Services and + 1 year warranty. As for goodies it is having double din kenwood touch screen dvd player, reverse parking camera, bluetooth, has got good leather seats and drives beautifully. Tyres would be there for another 10-15K as per me.

Also saw Linea and NHC.

I said 7.75 and came back. The guy said not possible but told me will give call tomorrow.

Wht u guys think?

But do consider the fuel consumption, compared to the others. Else, it's a lovely vehicle.

Used CRV is fine but as said by other it is a fuel guzzler. Why dont you look at Linea 1.3 JTD... a little over your budget but you get all the bells and whistles and its a diesel too and looks better than anything available in its range and beyond.

my question to experts -

--Since it has already covered 52K KMS can it run for another 50K without any engine trouble, what is the life of CRV engine?

--The dealer mentioned that the clutch work is done in 50K and clutch is very light to operate, any idea why clutch wear happened in such a short KMS?

--what is the best price to pick this CRV? (End 2004, MT, DVD screen)

The people at ACE honda have gone crazy or what.

The price has steadily increased from 8L to 8.5L in my last three visits. All people quote it differently.

Can some one help??
