Spoilt for choice

Hi All,

A friend of mine is thinking to go in for a mini SUV. He likes the Honda name quite a bit and wants to go in for the CR-V. I have told him to go for the forrester instead as I think it looks really smart and is a Subaru after all!

What do u all think?

Is the new CR-V upgraded? What about the new forrester?

Is Hyundai launching the Tucson soon? What price do y'all think it will be launched at?

Does anybody know if a turbo kit is available for the forrester 2.0 litre engine which is sold in India? I think UK sells a 2.0 litre turbocharged forrester!

Well the new CR-V has a better 4wd system...and they soon may launch the diesel variant!!
ABout the Forester...i havent heard of any kit to upgrade it..but yeah..we in India have the nimble version of the Forester sold in UK!!! I suggest your friend should go for the Forester if fuel efficiency is not a problem!!

The new M/T CR-V has to be the one. With a 2.4 ltr engine churning out 152bhp. there's hardly anything that can even come close.

The bigger 16" wheels will surely help improve it's handling and the 5 speed M/T should see it crack the 10 sec barrier and still manage a top speed, better than the old CR-V.

Why not the Suzuki Grand Vitara? Claims 166bhp from a huge 2700 cc engine... and the 4WD feature is optional in it.... meaning its upto the driver when he wants 4WD and when he doesnt.

Vitara is for 17 i think whereas Forrester is 15.5.
Dunno how much the new CR-V is gonna be.
But for 1.5 more, u get a much bigger SUV in Vitara than in Forrester.... both in terms of power as well as seating cap (7 compared to Forrester's 5)

The Forester is an amazing car... I would go for one in a flash if I had the money

I heard that GM India has recently relaunched the Forester. Anybody have any idea on what is in the new Forester that was not there in the old one?

I would surely go for the Honda CRV which is a great all-rounder SUV but with the new manual version.

the suzuki grand vitara site has a useful comparison chart with all SUV's. I dont know how to put it up on my post though.

Can any of the moderators help?

Checked out the site, but the prob is, it's a old one. The CR-V still has a 2ltr engine with 142bhp according to that site.

But anyway, here's the chart

That'll depend on your driving style and the conditions in which the car will be driven.

OD managed a best figure of 13.4 kmpl with the A/T. The M/T should be slightly more FE.
