My pick from this lot would be the Kodiaq L&K hands down. It simply punches above this class in terms of the combination of sophistication, power, driving dynamics, interior feel good factor, back seat comfort etc. It really is the FULL PACKAGE!

If choosing a diesel, my top two contenders would be Meridian or Tucson - between the two, I would pick the former but the current Tucson is really a lovely car too - probably better to drive in diesel guise thanks to the Meridian’s slightly iffy gear box set up.

To me, the luxury badge products in this list simply can’t compete with these value alternatives - they are both short on space as well as engine specs, nor are they built to any higher quality interior spec. If looking for comparable spec luxury badge, you have to go up to the X3 / GLC / Q5 / luxury range and that’s a clean 40-50% on the price point.

The Skoda Kodiaq makes the most sense in this list and is my pick of the lot. However, I see the Nissan X-Trail is also mentioned in the list, which I feel isn't in the league of the others in terms of popularity, power, features, displacement, badge value or on any count for that matter. Moreover, as others have mentioned, the Hyundai Tucson, despite not having the badge value, would be a better match and a much better value for money option.
