Looking for a luxury SUV | 50 - 75 lakhs budget

For the past 5 years, I've been enjoying the drives in my 7 series and Mercedes W212 E350, both of which I consider among the best in my garage. The collection also includes a 4-month-old Innova Hycross ZXO, a 2016 Toyota Camry used by my dad, and a Maruti Ignis driven by my wife. Recently, I parted ways with my 2016 Toyota Landcruiser, and now I'm on the hunt for a mid-size city/highway SUV that's self-drive-friendly, unlike the Landcruiser, which struggled in city traffic due to its bulk.

Lately, I've been craving a more exhilarating driving experience, and I'm exploring the pre-owned market with a flexible budget ranging from 50 to 75 lakhs. I've shortlisted a few options: the 2020-2021 Mercedes GLC 220, 2020 Porsche Macan, and 2020 BMW X5.

Additionally, I've come across a low-mileage gem, the 2017 Volkswagen Touareg 3.6FSI, with just 4000kms on the odometer. This particular Touareg was used by Volkswagen at their Chakan plant, has been serviced in 2018 and 2022 at the workshop, and lacks insurance. Priced at around 32 lakhs, it needs fluid, tire, and battery replacements. I'm curious about the availability of spares and routine parts for this model, especially considering it was never officially launched in India. The car boasts hydraulic suspension, and I'm curious if it comes with the ZF8HP transmission. Despite these considerations, I'm tempted by the low mileage, attractive price, and the fact that it's essentially 80% Porsche Cayenne. I'd appreciate your thoughts and suggestions on this potential purchase.

I am just curious to know what made you sell your Land Cruiser apart from it being too big.

From the list you have mentioned macan is the one you should go for if you prioritize driving.

There might not be a right or wrong answer for this. I you are a hands-on person willing to take little risk, there is no harm in considering the car. What I am curious is the actual usage of the car. Where did some officials run it, or did they do some R&D by taking out the assembly anywhere?

Usually, any large company will take proper care of any vehicle used by a staff more so a car like this. So why did they not service it promptly? I will also try to check the condition of the rubbers etc, as it's possible that the vehicle was parked in the open all this time.

Spares should not be a big issue given the common usage across platforms (Q7 as well?) Yes, it should have ZF gearbox.

Reason for selling was SUV is too large for city roads and my 70% usage now has changed to city use. Secondly mine was initial lot of vehicles which had Hydraulic suspension with KDSS ,hence ride quality was not compliant for city roads due to long travel suspension.

Porsche macan whatever available in preowned is not fully loaded and price quoted are not enticing to go for preowned route. Still searching for new look fully loaded vehicle.

The dealer has acquired a batch of cars with uncertain usage history, and it's possible that these vehicles have been exposed to harsh environmental conditions over the years. While the rubber components seem to be in acceptable condition, the tires show signs of aging with visible cracks, indicating a need for replacement.
