Can someone explain this recommendation? Why 30 and why not 40 or 20? Perhaps a link to the explanation would help.

Re: Driven 200,000 km | Keep or Sell Toyota Fortuner AT

Hi

Hold your change decision till April 2023.

Wait for new launches from Toyota, Mahindra and TATA. As Ford has stopped, there are not many options in SUVs in your planned budget.

Tiguan and above are awsome vehicles, but they are premium, both to own and service.

I will not suggest pre-owned as technology is changing at a greater pace. CAFE norms is pushing companies to bring in best engine options.

If Mahindra EV SUVs come with 400 Kms+ on single charge. Then it will be a game changer.

I am waiting for new Innova Hycross, I had a 2013 Innova V model.

Hope this feedback helps you.

Enjoy driving.

Regards

Hey Harry, What are your thoughts on the Scorpio-N? Have you had the chance to do a TD?

I had a hunch that this was the case and that it was unique to that specific demo vehicle. I've been reading additional reviews on the Safari AT in this forum and will likely look for another TD (from a different dealership) in the next week.
Hope your problem resolves shortly. But as many BHPians quotes, though overpriced but still a new fortuner makes a lot of sense. Atleast you would continue to have an authentic SUV coz, if you buy an authentic BOF RWD/4WD SUV in today's time it will be the last batch of authentic Diesel SUVs anyone would own. By the next 7-10 years, monocoque fwd SUVs would completely take over and God forbids if a battery powers them rather than an ICE

My vote would be to keep a keen eye on the used car market for either of these options.

The Kodiaq is an excellent package and more so in the Diesel version. Keep an eye the Classifieds section. I've found several gems for my friends there.

The 1GD Fortuner AT is an unbreakable package. 2017/18/19 models retail for very high asking prices. Buying directly from owners could potentially get you realistic prices.

Would you like to look at a 2017 Brown Passat on OLX? The price is very realistic. I was helping a friend analyze the car and it seemed pretty clean. Unfortunately my friend decided to back out because of unrelated reasons. The Passat has the same engine as the Kodiaq but in higher state of tune. And it has DCC . Disclaimer: We backed out before verifying with Volkswagen Service.

Re: Driven 200,000 km | Keep or Sell Toyota Fortuner AT

Thank you all! After considerable deliberation, I opted to purchase a Fortuner 2017 4x4 auto yesterday. It was thoroughly examined, and I picked it up after receiving approval from the Showroom. Considering the exchange, it was an excellent value.

Note: Apologizes for the low Quality pic, I will attempt to write a detailed review post 5000kms.

Congratulations for your new car. Out of all the options, you chose the best one. It's gonna last, be reliable (unlike the questionable reliability of a pre owned car) and you will keep relishing the experience of a Fortuner. Wishing all the best for your new new journey with a 4wd (I believe your previous Fortuner was rwd auto). Hope you clock 4 lakh km on the odo. Happy Mile Munching!

Thank you very much for the guidance! Though I had options, I was keen to stick on to the budget and glad I found a good one. I am enjoying every mile and hopefully take it to uncharted terrains (4wd).
