How much of a gamble is it really to buy the Nissan Kicks?

After 3 good years and great experiences, had a little let down with the battery failure. Changed from factory fitted to Varta/Amaron din60 battery last July and now its kaput. the Report shared is excessive discharge. The warranty provided is only 1 year (

). Now the service station is asking to replace the battery with Exide or Amaron with 5 year warrenty. Anyone else facing this issue with Varta batteries? Is this normal wear and tear.
