Re: Why should one buy a 4WD (4X4 system)/ AWD as against a 4x2?

Hi guys,

Reviving this thread for a bit.

Contemplating between an X1 xDrive and sDrive. My usage is 80% city (Mumbai) and 20% highways. No plans for off-roading at any point.

Does the xDrive change the driving dynamics in the city in any way? I'm assuming it would give me more traction on highways, but I don't see myself pushing the car to such a limit either way.

Wondering whether the 3L difference between the sDrive and xDrive M Sport is worth it for me at all.

It absolutely doesn't make any difference within the city. In any case, isn't xDrive a part time 4WD (which drives as a FWD and engages 4WD only when required)?
