the last that was produced was in 2006.thats it.the 14 was launched then and the 12's production has been stopped in 2006.

if at all it is a new bike then it must have been a left over piece.

moreover the last green 12r's were built in 2003.thats it.2004 there were 2 colours -blue and black.2005 there was just one colour-pearl black.
2006 was only one colour-black with golden wheels.

i know this because well it has all happened before my eyes.the statement from kawasaki to cease the production of the 12r was there before my eyes in 2006 and all of us 12 owners on the international forum were very very sad.

its because some importers in india were infact offering the 12r in 2007 was the reason that went a bit harsh against it.the point it that these guys are supplying leftover and refurbished 12r's to unsuspecting customers.

It had the same colour scheme for both the years so unless you're near the bike, you can't tell the difference. Unless, you know the owner.
