Re: Superbikes spotted in India

superstuff scorcher, I just read its coverage in the TG and it looks absolutely gorgeous, quite pricey at 18+ L OR. The specs look good too, but the price is a let down.

OT, you should also mention the lens and other details like ISO/Aperture/SS etc in the corner of your pics, the detailing is awesome.

Nandish,
Not quite sure what makes you think that pillion is risking his life. If you observe the snap, the pillion has ducked into the rider for the air resistance to be minimal and he is putting his weight on the tank rather than the rider himself.
This is how pillion riding should be on a SBK.

Apologies if you think otherwise but i find he is not risking his life for the adrenaline rush that he would have got during his ride.

That's true. It's better to move with the rider than counteract his actions\reactions. Even the slightest counter action\movement from the pillion during high speed runs or even while taking corners can result in a disaster.
Am sure that fellow left a trail of something behind after the R1 ride

Re: Superbikes spotted in India

ku69rd
protection on a superbike is for both rider & pillion,i hope you agree with it,
pillion is in the right posture, but doesnt need to enjoy this kind of rush,
i am sure you heard of the incidents of superbike crashes where rider survived & pillion could not hold on to to life.
rider is alert & also knows his reflexes in an emergency, pillion has no option ut to crash,
note - this is not a straight bike on the road, there is a incline more than required with a pillion,
please share your thoughts

Lol this is a case of Chicken & Egg story. But let us not limit this to only super bikers and their pillions. Every moto-sport does have its share of spoils and grabs.
Am not quite sure how you could make up the angle of inclination without seeing the other 2 sides of their curve.
Would have been ideal if they had put on some protective gear.

Well Nandish, get to see your point.
Pretty sure they will get smarter once they kiss the tarmac and know exactly what not to do when they sling their legs across. Not that i bode bad for such riders, wish they had basic riding kit while riding SBK's.

Re: Superbikes spotted in India

Gear is what is missing in that pic and that's what Nandish might have intended to point out. I personally feel the pillion is very well positioned and made it easier for the rider to tackle the curve. A brilliant pic it is.

On the topic of riding an SBK with a pillion, Lee Parks has covered a full chapter in his book Total Control: High Performance Riding Techniques.

When 7 bikes from different genres fired-up and roared simultaneously!

The white R1 with the Yoshimura's sounds evil.
