secondly what do you mean race spec CBR? please elaborate.
I'm not sure about the race spec thing. But he has a white-blue 600cc CBR which he has modified for his track use. His name is Sumit Lucas Toppo . He is from Ranchi and he is a very talented stunt rider who started it all by forming a group called "Street Demons" with the white CBR guy pictured in post number #2702 of this thread. Now he's studying in MGR College, Chennai and I remember he was pictured in ACI sometime back with some prizes he won.

A CBR600 has landed in hyderabad. Seen it already ripping on Banjara Hills roads, pics coming up soon. Heard there's a new Ducati Direct Import coming to hyderabad soon, waiting to see which one.

Re: Superbikes spotted in India

I had a small query.

A few days back my friend saw an imported bike, and came and told me about it. He is not much of an enthusiast, so all that stuck to his head was its price as told by the apparent owner. It was 60lakh rupees. I was a bit shocked at this. Even considering an import mark up of 100%, the bike still ends up costing 60thousand dollars.

Which bike would end up costing this much??

He could have said 16 lakhs and he could have heard it as 60. Even going by this 100% import duty, which bike would cost 30 Lakhs originally.

Re: Superbikes spotted in India

Well there are a few that could cost that high, but they are more like one-off or limited production bikes.

Though yes it does seem likely that the value was more like 16lakhs.

Though I do now of a Hayabusa and a V-rod in my town, both owned by a friend of mine. As far as I remember, his now almost 4yr old Hayabusa was bought at 13.5lakhs. The V-rod is a more recent acquisition which I haven't yet seen. How much do these cost today?

@huwaeiguy -- Thats a neat R1 there mate. Thanks for sharing. Are you street riding or frequent tracks?

IIRC, Sumit Lucas raced in National Racing Championships and got a few prizes too (was in rostrum I believe)

I can see some tread left on the rear tire. But the tire does look like its due for replacement. The depth of the tread is worn beyond a safe margin for sure.
