2024 Honda Africa Twin design patented in India

Honda has filed a design patent for the 2024 Africa Twin in India. The bike maker has also patented the Adventure Sport variant.

The 2024 Africa Twin made its global debut a few months ago. The bike gets cosmetic updates along with a slight increase in performance.

The patent images showcase the bike’s redesigned side panels that give it a sharper look. Honda has also patented the base variant, although it is unlikely to be offered in India.

The 2024 Africa Twin is powered by a 1,084cc, parallel-twin engine. A higher compression ratio has resulted in a bump in peak torque from 103 Nm @ 6,250 rpm to 112 Nm @ 5,500 rpm. The bike also features a new airbox, valves and fuel injectors.

The Adventure Sport variant is a road-biased version of the Africa Twin. It is equipped with a 19-inch front wheel and lowered suspension.

Re: 2024 Honda Africa Twin design patented in India

I remember watching some reviews from EU and US when it launched out there. The engine seems to have got slightly more refinement along side the performance boost, weather protection is better with the new design was something among the highlights. I so wish that they also provide the option of base version, I assume it can be configured to get ES and DCT both if one wants.

It'll be interesting to see how the ATAS performs with the 19" front wheel. I'm sure it'd do great on-road, need to see how much compromise one can expect off the pavement. One good that that it'd make the handling and managing of the motorcycle easier with the lowered saddle height and some bit of GC as well.

Sad that there’s been no progress in the new AT coming in to India. Per the dealer here in BLR, it may come in around March or April 2025.

Honda India’s incredibly lax attitude towards the motorcycle segment is shocking to see!

Any update on this , Kaushal? I am waiting for the launch but don't have anything concrete!

Sadly, no updates given to me by the dealer.

I lost hope on the AT coming in anytime soon, and went with the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE.

With the cuts in taxes for cbu & ckd, the AT when and if it comes in, should hopefully be better priced.

The Bangalore dealer alternates between phases of excitement and lethargy (not their fault though!).

Have seen multiple instances where they get all excited with the rumours, only to have to swallow their words and go silent on customers due to no action from Honda later.

As per the dealer - there is a 'lineup' of 1000cc motorcycles coming this year, not just the Hornet 1000. But hard to believe their words and also Honda.

This sounds interesting! I am guessing honda now has some incentive to get cbu’s given the 10% reduction in cbu import, specifically the japan manufactured ones! Fingers crossed!
