Kawasaki would be competing with itself.
The price in the USA is approximately the same. The Z900 is $9299 and the Zx4r is $9699 so the pricing of both bikes is actually the same in the global market but in India if they go CBU route then it will be actually more expensive than the Z900. Let's first see if Kawasaki actually launches it here. So far it's just rumours and no teasers or anything to suggest a new launch in the future.

This silhouette pretty much officially confirms that its the ZX 4R

Point is what would they want to price this bike, this is one of a kind so there will be takers. My guess is that it will be around 7.49 lacs Ex-Showroom, should be able to find some buyers at that price point.

Good times to be a biker, so many choices in pretty much all the segments now.

re: Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R, now launched at 8.49 lakh

The silhouette does look like the ZX-4R (or the ZX-25R). If this is the ZX-4R, it's going to attract the potential buyers of CBR650R.

It's been months since Honda or their authorized dealers chose not to respond to any/every question related to their much-loved middle-weight champ.

With only 8 BHP less than the Baby Blade, the ZX 4R would be a worthy contender. If priced right (between 6-7 OTR), the baby Ninjas are going to make Indian roads 'scream.'

Icing on the cake, I am checking the timing of Aprilia RS 440's launch as I type this on Sep 07. I believe Japs are just waiting for the Italians to draw the first blood in terms of pricing.

No deets out yet, but it will be tough to choose between Japanese engineering finesse and Italian motorcycle artistry.

What a time to be a motorcycle enthusiast in India!!

re: Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R, now launched at 8.49 lakh

What a turnkey year 2023 has been with back to back exceptional launches which is nothing but a cornerstone moment for the Indian motorcycle scene. Thanks to Indian manufacturers whose competitive innovation and VFM proposition has opened the floodgates of never before imagined motorcycles with phenomenal electronic packages, a world-first in most cases.

The entire diaspora of Indian manufacturers and their partnerships have single-handedly crafted what was a swooned market, made it blossom, bloom and tempest to such wonderful times. Boy, can we proudly say. Damn we were late, but heck, we arrived in style and that holds true.

Coming to this ZX-4R, Kawasaki being cow-ass-ki, pricing is where they take a beating. This bike definitely has all it takes to swirl the market by storm, irrespective of the price it's destined to be launched. Where this bike will shine -- in fact, exceptionally shine is the used market.

People will flood to buy this and there's no question about how fast this shall fly from the used market showrooms. Making it uniquely theirs with plethora of add-ons, we Indians swoon over any bike that has four-bangers and being a price sensitive market, this bike ticks all the right boxes.

Inline 4 - Yes.
400 cc - Happy. Why? I get a better gas mileage, a screamer of a motor that revs to moons and back and an aural orgasm that can only be experienced. - Double Yes.
Used One? Yes! Pondering over an organ donation? Heck yes. Why? I am getting an "all in one package" once in a life-time deal at an affordable price, hence won't bother cashing the kidney(s).

With RE450 series, the R3-MT03 and the 2024 Duke 390 all launches around the corner, times have never been more satiating and tempting.

Let the Good Times Roll!

Cheers!
VJ

I am one of those potential CBR buyers. I would quite definitely try out the ZX when it comes out, but the expected exorbitant pricing (due to the CBU stuff) puts me off at this time completely. Also, the very meagre torque figures mean that it would be a herky jerky ride in town, and it doesn't really suit my needs, as I'm looking for a daily rider. Then there are the affordable Honda service costs and also the drop dead gorgeous looks of the CBR.
I am definitely keeping an eye out for the ZX, but as of now I'm quite apprehensive.

re: Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R, now launched at 8.49 lakh

The strongly rumoured pricing is higher than what anyone has speculated here on this thread That said, you have to give it to Kawasaki for still investing all that time, effort and money in developing a whole host of exciting motorcycles.

I am someone who firmly believes that smaller, lighter, sporty, powerful motorcycles make more sense than 200+ BHP monsters on our Indian roads. So, on paper, the ZX4R should be right up my alley. Right?

Before any of you go rushing to make your bookings at the nearest Kawasaki dealership, take a look at this video and see where and how the performance translates into the real world.

P.S - Before anyone comes out with their pitchforks, the standard disclaimers apply. Team BHP members do not promote high speed riding on public roads etc etc. This video is just to show how the motorcycle will behave as you rev it out through all the gears.

6 lakhs OTR is the price of the bare basics Ninja 400. This is priced the same as the Z900 in the USA and this will be a CBU so expect a price a few lakhs more than the Z900 so 11l - 13l is the ballpark figure. Hopefully tomorrow all will be revealed.

OTR price in Mumbai will be around 10 is what the dealership I am in touch with has communicated. Someone had imported a ZX 25R in Kolkata so even the 4R at 10 lacs will have buyers. However, it might not make financial sense for many especially if it's your first big or inline 4 motorcycle.

Rs. 8.49 Lakhs ex-sh. (confirmed on social media)

In my opinion, there was no point expecting a hugely better price than this, even though people are right to be disappointed.
For an inline 4, this was expected. And while the ZX 25R was a hell of a screamer, it would've died in this market with such less horsepower. At least with 77PS, this bike makes an impact, and can be considered.

There's no substitute for a bike sounding like a F1 car on street speeds, and this is perfect for it. With small pistons comes higher piston speeds, means theoretically it can rev higher than i4 600's too.
I've seen a Bengali ZX 25R rider scraping elbows with aunties on bicycles in a social media video, it looked funny, but the bike sounded amazing.

PS: By the way, the 243 kmph speed might be a big fraud going by the video, please check its proper reviews once.

This is confirmed now.

Good pricing IMHO - Just above the 68ps, twin cylinder Ninja 650 priced at 7.16L.

4 cylinder, 77ps and an absolutely unique Supersport- this one is totally worth it for fans. Its not for everyone anyways!

Even from competition- there is nothing available at this price bracket. With the Triumph Trident 660 priced at 8.12L, the 81ps Daytona 660 is likely to be priced around 9.5L ex showroom, I guess, when it becomes available next year.

The Baby Kwacker is out, and at 8.49 lac, the pricing is sensible for a screaming inline four.

Re: Kawasaki ZX4R breaks cover

Kawasaki India website has listed ZX4R with the price. I am not sure they had any launch event.
