I bleed red. Always wanted the thoroughbred middleweight red machine from Honda, the CBR 650R, in my garage. But the clueless Topline making me more anxious while pushing me into the green pits.

I think it's a good thing! But only concerned about Kawasaki's high-maintenance costs. Will the CBR 650R ever come to India? Or should we take the plunge and go for this lean green machine?

From my limited knowledge, there is no definite timeline on even the 6R launch from Kawasaki. I would be really surprised if the Honda 650R does not come to India, which means it should most definitely get relaunched after the Euro 5 update in India. But yes, timelines is a bit of a guess work for both.

According to a media report, Kawasaki is likely to launch the updated ZX-6R in India by the end of this year.

The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R was discontinued after the BS6 emission norms came into effect. With the Euro5 version already on sale globally, Kawasaki is expected to bring the updated bike to India.

The 2024 Ninja ZX-6R is powered by the same 636cc in-line 4-cylinder engine as before. However, it now complies with the BS6.2 norms, with peak output rated at 127 BHP and 69 Nm, slightly lower than the old version. The engine gets revised cam profiles, re-tuned injectors, molybdenum-coated pistons, a revised intake system and a new header & collector pipe.

The new ZX-6R features an adjustable Showa front fork and an adjustable Showa mono-shock at the rear. Braking is handled by twin 320 mm discs paired with new Nissin 4-piston calipers at the front and a 220 mm rear disc.

The bike gets a quick-shifter, 4.3-inch digital instrument console with Bluetooth and three riding modes: Sport, Road and Rain, while safety features include traction control and Kawasaki Intelligent Anti-lock Brake System.

Big blow to used dealers. I see 2nd owner ZX6Rs with 10+ kms on odo advertised for 11 lacs plus on OLX which is insane. Hopefully now sanity will prevail!
As always very good positioning from Kawasaki. Hope big red also is sensible when they launch the 600RR here.

The most VFM inline 4 on the market. I hope our public rewards Kawasaki's efforts.

Kudos Kawasaki, you keep doing wonders for superbikes in India. Amazing pricing and this is pretty much all the bike you need for India.

A friend told a dealer selling a used ZX6r for 11.5 lakhs about the new price and was told that the new ZX6r makes less power and hence the older model is worth more

Crazy isn't it? nothing seems to make sense when it comes to fully faired bikes in India. Same story with the Daytona. Moving down the CC ladder, the RC390 commands almost 30-50k more for same age/mileage than a duke 390. Ninja 300 and R3 don't seem to depreciate at all. Looking at the new R3 prices I'd think the used R3s would now cost 3lacs+
The new ZX6R and the street triple R are now the only 2 bikes which you can buy in India within acceptable limits of profligacy. Everything else is ridiculously priced.

Fantastic pricing by Kawasaki. They really know how to price their products (other than the 400 ofcourse).
Great time for people who wanted to buy a middle weight inline 4. Honda 650r was last priced at 9.46 and post the new updates if they bring it in India it will definitely 10+. This becomes a no brainer for people looking to buy a 600 inline 4.
