Also R3 doesn't look like a 5 lacs bike now, infact the R15M looks better and more modern.
Yamaha will probably import a few hundred bikes which means they can easily sell them off within a year.

Yamaha needs to spend a lot of money to build a plant to make twin cylinder engines which is why they have elected to simply import a few bikes and instead sell more R15 and scooters in India instead.

Re: Yamaha big bikes showcased in India: R3, R7, MT-07, MT-09

While searching for naked bikes, I casually googled MT09 and to my surprise Yamaha India website popped up! The ex-showroom price (Delhi) is Rs. 10.64 lakhs.

Website link - https://www.yamaha-motor-india.com/motorcycle-mt09.html

Sharing some screenshots also in case Yamaha takes this site down. Note that this model is not yet listed online booking.

This is the old model having dual head lamps. The new model has a single headlamp design. The old model retailed at this price before it was discontinued.

Yamaha India displayed the R7 at the Buddh International Circuit during the MotoGP Bharat.

Couple of clicks of the same.

Autocar claims that the R3 will be launched only in December. That's pretty late if true considering the Aprilia RS457 will attract a lot of potential R3 buyers before the launch of the R3.

That's true.

Somehow I don't think Aprilia will keep the price low. They will launch RS457 at a premium for sure which will be beyond R3 price point.

Also, delivery of RS457 could be later than R3 despite being launched first. That could also play a part.

I am waiting to test ride the MT03 and this has been a test of patience! Thanks Yamaha for making me a better person.
