The BMW R 1300 GS is expected to feature a sharper beak at the front compared to the current R 1250 GS. The upcoming bike also features new LED headlights, a large adjustable windshield, LED tail lights and an electronic module at the front for the radar-based adaptive cruise control. The bike will also come with a larger TFT instrument cluster, with multiple ride modes and plenty of other electronic rider assist features as well.

Reports suggest that the new-gen adventure tourer will feature a telelever front and paralever rear suspension. Braking duties are handled by dual disc brakes at the front and a single disc at the rear, supported by dual-channel ABS. The road-going version of the R 1300 GS will come with alloy wheels, while the off-road version gets tubeless wire-spoke rims.

The new BMW R 1300 GS will get an updated version of the 1250 boxer engine. The bump in displacement is also said to translate to higher power figures. The engine on the current R 1250 GS produces 136 BHP and 146 Nm. The R 1300 GS will continue to feature a shaft drive as the current-gen motorcycle.

The BMW R 1300 GS is expected to be unveiled sometime next year, although an official timeline is yet to be announced. The Adv-tourer will also make its way to the Indian market soon after its international launch.

Most guesses are that this will be a 2023 November EICMA release with a Q1 2024 launch to market. Until then, keep piling up the FDs.

2024 BMW R 1300 GS unveiled globally

BMW Motorrad has taken the wraps off the all-new R 1300 GS adventure tourer. The ADV will soon go on sale in the global markets, before making its way to Indian shores.

The BMW R 1300 GS is based on a new steel sheet-metal frame that is said to be more compact and stiffer than the previous model and a bolt-on subframe made from die-cast aluminium.

BMW has also made some design changes to its flagship ADV. The biggest update is in the lighting department. The bike now features a new Matrix LED headlamp with X-shaped LED daytime running lights. It comes with an adjustable windscreen, knuckle guards with integrated LED turn indicators and a digital instrument console.

The R 1300 GS rides on a new EVO Telelever front suspension and a para-lever setup at the rear. BMW offers features like Dynamic Suspension Adjustment that can adjust the damping and preload depending on the road conditions and riding style. The bike also gets an adaptive seat height function that adjusts the saddle height automatically when riding slowly or when stopped.

Powering the R 1300 GS is a 1,300cc twin-cylinder boxer engine that produces 143.5 BHP @ 7,750 rpm and 149 Nm @ 6,500 rpm. The engine features BMW's ShiftCam tech and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. There are four riding modes: Rain, Road, Eco, and Enduro and three optional modes: Dynamic, Dynamic Pro and Enduro Pro. The bike maker claims that the new powertrain is more compact and lighter than before. As a result, the motorcycle weighs 12 kg less than the outgoing model.

The BMW R 1300 GS competes with the Honda Africa Twin, Triumph Tiger 1200 and the Ducati Multistrada V4.

Re: Next-gen BMW R 1300 GS spied testing ahead of unveil

The new GS almost looks like an expensive and souped up Vstrom 1000.

I am not to sure about the looks, especially the front end with the X shaped DRLs. But knowing the GS pedigree, this one is sure to sell in good numbers.

Expect a nice bump up in price; this will be getting dangerously close to the 30L mark!
