Congratulations Crazy Driver! This is a beautiful do it all bike. Even value for money if bought pre-owned.
Here’s hoping for a smooth ownership just like your earlier Versys and minimal trips to the infamous Bangalore Triumph.

Thank you Aman. Yes and i always wanted to own a Triple/inline4.

Seriously speaking, the more exciting aspect is what i lost - the size and the weight. Switching from the Versys to the Tiger Sport - it doesn't even feel like a big bike and that makes it very easy to handle tricky situations.

The difference feels way more than what the 13kg difference on paper suggests. Infact, makes the 199kg CB500X feel larger and slightly heavier.

Thank you

Certainly a good allrounder alright. Glad to have found one which was so sparingly used. Now to put some miles on it.

Hoping Bajaj does something to improve the ownership experience soon.

Congratulation on your new ride and wishing you safe miles ahead. After you sold your V650 we were missing some good photolog and travelogues which were some kinds of booster dose for us to hit back road. Now eagerly waiting for some exhilarating threads.

In Bangalore Bajaj is moving the best KTM mechanics to Triumph. I heard Khivraj, (opp the museum) - will soon service Triumph as well.

Compact size, in comparison to the KTM 390 Adventure -

Thank you. Will take some time creating a dedicated thread though!

Khivraj has already announced their Triumph dealership plans for Bangalore, Chennai and Coimbatore.

That's amazing. I knew Tiger 660 is more nimble compared to the Versys but never knew it felt lighter than Cb500x to ride! How's the engine heat in bangalore traffic btw? Triples do heat up more than twins generally.

Congrats on your purchase. It's a great bike. Triumph would have sold a lot more if they had priced it better and their reputation for after sales did not help either. Like you said things will hopefully improve.

Re: Triumph Tiger Sport 660, now launched at 8.95 lakhs

I expected some niggles buying a used (even if sparingly) Triumph and I guess that caught up soon.

Dropped the bike off at Keerthi Triumph for two reasons -

1. Front wheel sensor seems faulty. I'm getting TC Disabled, ABS Fault and CEL at highway speeds. This is being checked for warranty claim.

2. Quickshifter is not enabled. The option isnt even present in the menu because they havent enabled through diagnostics. Was the first big bike for the previous owner and he seems to have not tried this at all.

On paper the 500X is 7kgs lighter, but i guess the compact size and lower CG from the triple helps the Tiger Sport "feel" similar. Also when you sit on the bike, the CB500X has a lot more substantial mass of tank+meters+windshield ahead of the rider to give the impression of a big bike.

Heat is certainly evident - but so far not been bothersome for me. The smaller motor helps - because the Tiger 800 used to run much hotter IIRC. Both of these are well below Harley and Ducati levels of painful heat, but much worse than the Japanese - especially Kawasaki.

The worst i have felt in crawling traffic is sweaty

Did the owner got this accessory fitted(quick shifter isn’t standard on 660) and not even tried?

He had got TSA installed before delivery itself, along with many other items available in their catalogue.

Was resuming biking after long, so may not have even got to check it in the limited rides he had.

As some of you who are friends on insta already know - I finally bit the bullet and got my Tiger Sport 660.
Congratulations!

Your Black Panther Versys 650 thread inspired me to dream.
And now the wait begins for a bomb of an ownership thread

Took 6 days, but both issues are resolved now.

1. They tried changing the wheel sensor and later the wire, but still the issue persisted. Turned out to be a bend in the pulsar ring.

Let the pictures do the talking.

Quite an interesting company for last weekend -

Have you done any rides with the pillion? I wanted to know how it feels on longer rides with respect to ride comfort for the pillion and the effect of GC.

Re: Triumph Tiger Sport 660, now launched at 8.95 lakhs

Did a 770kms ride from Bangalore to my hometown of Trivandrum on Sunday. Took 12 hours in total (extra breaks due to the heat) with an average speed of 81.7km/h and MID indicated FE of 22.6 km/l.

No, sorry and that is unlikely to change soon.

Comes with a preload adjustor for the rear, so I'm not very worried though.

Re: Triumph Tiger Sport 660, now launched at 8.95 lakhs

Hi All, could one of the owners of the Tiger 660 shed some light on the actual ground clearance on the tiger ?. There is no official mention from triumph and various auto portals are mentioning between 150mm to 162mm.

How practical it is as a general commuter in the cities over potholes and speed breakers? The oil sump seems positioned right at the lowest part!
