As per the available information, Honda’s new chassis consists of three main sections, with the motorcycle’s engine being a stressed member. The front section of the frame bolts the steering head to the top of the engine. Its monocoque style also allows having internal space for the battery and electronics.

The second section of the frame has been bolted to the transmission and carries the swingarm, footpegs and the rear mono-shock. The last section of the frame appears to be a single piece that holds together the seat as well as the tank. It is bolted directly to the upper/front aluminium frame section.

It is being said that this chassis would help reduce production costs and also save on the overall weight of the motorcycle.

The patent images also show that this chassis has been used for a superbike with an inline, 4-cylinder engine that looks similar to that of the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade. Other information that the pictures reveal include clip-on handlebars, a semi-digital instrument cluster, adjustable front forks, radially-mounted front brake calipers, single-sided swingarm, and more.
