Re: 2022 Ducati Multistrada V2 revealed

Both bikes look beautiful (although the Red is always more special on a Ducati).

One exception: I find the all red alloys on the black bike overkill and garish. Something subtler would have done better justice to the all black look.

Old wine in new bottle!
Ducati is juicing out the switches and other kit from the discontinued MTS 1260 family on the 950 (err V2?) for nothing but a mid-life makeover. I actually expected it to be a substantial evolution when it came under the V2 name considering how the Multi V4 and the Panigale V2 were a substantial upgrade from their predecessors (atleast looked so).

That said, there is nothing wrong or aged in how this bike still looks or the equipment it packs (that Skyhook suspension is GOLD in my books). Hope the 950 to V2 shift isnt a costly one for the consumer.

Ducati Multistrada V2 India launch on April 25

Ducati is expected to launch the Multistrada V2 in India on April 25, 2022. The new adventure tourer will replace the Multistrada 950 in Ducati's line-up.

2022 Ducati Multistrada V2 revealed-screenshot-20220421-152435.jpg

The Multistrada V2 features a familiar design with twin headlamps and a prominent beak. Ducati has been able to shave a few kilos off thanks to a new clutch and gearbox. The bike now weighs between 221.8 kg and 224.9 kg, depending on the variant.

Powering the Multistrada V2 is a 937cc, liquid-cooled L-twin engine that produces 111 BHP @ 9,000 rpm and 96 Nm @ 7,750 rpm, and comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The bike comes with four riding modes - Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro. The S variant comes with a bi-directional quickshifter as standard.

The Multistrada V2 features adjustable Sachs shocks at the front, while the S version gets Ducati's Skyhook EVO semi-active suspension. Braking is handled by twin 320 mm discs at the front and a single 265 mm disc at the rear.

The Multistrada V2 comes equipped with a 5-inch digital instrument console. The S variant gets backlit switchgear, cruise control, heated grips, a hands-free system, among other features.

Re: 2022 Ducati Multistrada V2 revealed

Stunning. Any word on when they actually plan on bringing the Desert X here? Currently my favourite looker in the ADV category with its old school Dakar/Cagiva Elephant-esque styling. That would really round out the portfolio. And with the number of people queuing up for the Africa Twin, I’m sure there would be enough takers.

Re: 2022 Ducati Multistrada V2 revealed

Last Sunday (02/19), Ducati had organised a Test Ride Camp and invited some of us for a ride on the V2S and V4S; starting from Woody's @ Kolar on the Old Madras Road.

I took the V2S for the spin on the highway and boy-o-boy, fell in Love with it from the get go:
* Stable at illegal speeds
* Nimble-handler and Skyhook makes the experience magical
* Refined motor and Chassis

The only con, was the constant boom from the visor at every position; but this already has a solution as detailed by TBhpian deepfreak15 in this post (My Silk White Ducati Multistrada 950 - One bike for many roads). Thanks deepfreak15.

I had a spin earlier in the city traffic and the heat management was much better during the afternoon; and the brakes are on point.

I'm totally smitten

It's one of those bikes that will never leave your mind in peace once you ride them.

Did you also ride it on broken roads?

Heat management is definitely much better than older Ducatis.

Now I know, why

I did ride it on some of the worst roads in & around KRPuram, and the Skyhook made it oh so comfortable. The V2S controls were a natural in stand-up riding too.

Re: 2022 Ducati Multistrada V2 revealed

Happy to share that I had booked a Ducati Multistrada V2 a while ago
The bike is ready and I have asked for Tuesday delivery.

@Cyborg, @bf1983 - Not sure how/why you guys guessed on Ducati. Ducati was always an aspirational brand and I wasn’t sure if I will actually buy it mainly due to lack of Vitamin M.

However, somehow the stars aligned and here I am. Full marks to the Ducati Pune team(till now) and support by my family(wife especially) to let me get yet another item of pure selfish indulgence. I am definitely going to hell in afterlife.

Mine came alone

Hearty congrats !!!

A truly beautiful machine. Given how much you used to ride your Street Triple I have no doubts you will do full justice to the new machine in your garage.

About how I guessed. I can't remember now exactly but I think I saw a Ducati-related email address you created to contact for your Street Triple listing which is what caught my eye but that could have been a coincidence and just my overactive imagination.

Congratulation Abhi! You are going to love it! I was (and still am) totally smitten by the V2. Had i not had the supersport bug ongoing, this was the bike i was going to upgrade to from my Street Triple as well. Wishing you loads of happy miles on it!

Abhi, happy for you, congratulations and all the best with the red beauty! It sure is a special feeling seeing the crate and unboxing her. You will have a blast on this one much more than the Street Triple due to the power delivery, sheer comfort and wind protection. Your better half will be over the moon too as she will be able to sit pillion comfortably.

I remember you writing about a visit to the Ducati showroom, the test ride and your desire for red seemed to be overflowing. After that post it wasn’t too difficult to guess what would happen down the line.

Happiness and good luck on your delivery tomorrow

Cheers

Thanks bf1983. Regarding email id- well, yes
The word Ducati has been used liberally in one or other combination in my passwords/username/email for almost entire part of my teenage and initial tenure of my job. I wasn’t able to resist when the opportunity came to own one in actual.

Ducati is pure raw emotion. Thanks again for the wishes sir.

Bike delivered as planned
It was raining the whole day here in Pune but God almighty gave me a window of couple of hours where even the roads were dried till the time I reached home. Rain resumed once I was back.

It was maddening traffic once I started the ride back home. People of Pune will be aware of situation in SB road and University square junction. The small moments where I was able to roll the throttle a bit were pure joy.

Few clicks. Bhpian Ricci took the time out and joined for delivery. Thanks a lot buddy.

All set..

Fun fact - At its side stand position, the top part of right side mirror is almost as tall as me.
