Indian Motorcycle to launch Indian Chief, FTR range in August

Indian Motorcycle plans to launch the 2022 Indian Chief and FTR range of motorcycles in India in August.

Worldwide, the Indian Chief range consists of six models. Out of these, three models - the Chief Dark Horse, Chief Bobber Dark Horse and Super Chief Limited will reach our shores. They will be powered by a BS6 compliant version of the ThunderStroke 116 engine which develops 162 Nm @ 3,200 rpm. . Prices for these bikes will start from Rs 20.75 lakh (ex-showroom).

Apart from the Indian Chief range, the company will launch the 2022 FTR range as well. These bikes are powered by a 1,203cc liquid-cooled V-Twin engine that develops 121 BHP and 120 Nm @ 6,000 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed transmission. These bikes are equipped with Brembo brakes, Metzeler Sportec tyres and adjustable Sachs suspension.

Other features include ABS, cruise control, ride modes and 17-inch wheels.

2022 Indian Chief range to be launched soon

Indian Motorcycles has released a teaser of its upcoming Indian Chief range, which suggests that the launch could be just around the corner.

The bike maker will offer three models in India. These include the Chief Dark Horse, Chief Bobber Dark Horse and the Super Chief Limited, with prices starting at Rs. 20.76 lakh (ex-showroom). Dealerships have already started accepting bookings for a token amount of Rs. 3 lakh.

The Indian Chief range of bikes will be powered by a BS6 compliant version of the 1,890cc ThunderStroke 116 engine which develops 162 Nm @ 3,200 rpm.

In addition to the Indian Chief, the company is also planning to introduce its new FTR range in India. These bikes are expected to be launched later this year.

Indian Motorcycle is all set to launch its 2022 Indian Chief lineup on August 27th.

Indian Motorcycles has launched the 2022 Indian Chief range in India. It comprises of the Chief Dark Horse, Indian Chief Bobber Dark Horse and Indian Super Chief Limited, with prices starting at Rs. 20.75 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Indian Chief is based on a steel-tube frame and is powered by the brand's Thunderstroke V-twin engine. This comes in the form of a 1,890cc, Thunderstroke 116 engine that generates 162 Nm of torque.

The bikes come with 46 mm front forks with 132 mm of travel. The bikes have a wheelbase of 1,626 mm, a seat height of 662 mm and weigh 304 kg (wet weight).

The Chief models come with a 15.1-litre fuel tank, bobbed rear fender, dual outboard preload-adjustable rear shock absorbers, dual exhaust and LED lights. Some of the features include a touchscreen display with turn-by-turn navigation, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, cruise control, keyless ignition and three riding modes - Sport, Standard and Tour.
