2020 Suzuki Hayabusa BS4 launched at Rs 13.75 lakh, will be sold until BS6 kicks-in in April 2020

For 2020, the Hayabusa receives a new front brake caliper and two new colour schemes.

Suzuki has priced the final lot of the BS4 Hayabusa in India at Rs 13.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The manufacturer is calling it the 2020 edition and it will be available only in limited numbers. For 2020, the bike comes with two new colour schemes – Metallic Thunder Gray and Candy Daring Red. Additionally, the bike also gets a new front brake caliper.

Mechanically, the new Busa remains the same as the previous year’s model, with the 1,340cc in-line-four engine producing 199.7hp and 155Nm of torque. However, this is likely to change after details of what appears to be the next-generation Hayabusa surfaced online a few months ago. In fact, India is one of the few countries where the current generation of the motorcycle is still on sale.

At Rs 13.75 lakh, the 2020 Suzuki Hayabusa is significantly more affordable than its rival – the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R (Rs 19.70 lakh), which also followed a similar launch strategy with its 2020 model. The Hayabusa makes its way to India via the CKD (Completely Knock Down) route and is assembled at SIMPL’s factory in Gurgaon. Dealers say that delivery of the bikes will begin on January 20, 2020.

Re: 2020 Suzuki Hayabusa launched at Rs. 13.75 lakh

Nothing new here to see. This one is for the memory lanes.

BRG ( brand new graphics) for 2020 again. This is a 11 year old model effectively and way long in the tooth. Still more bike than the 99% of riding population needs, but the game has moved on.

I have a strong feeling Suzuki is going to kill the old girl soon. With the ZZR bowing out after 2020 and Suzuki's inability to bring this up to speed, the dream for a Gen 3 is all but lost.

Long live the legend. Probably the greatest super bike of the modern super bike era.

Wow, the price hasn't changed in the last 15 years ? I remember this was priced around 12-14 Lakhs in 2004-05. Never been a crazy bike fan but seeing this on the road used to give me butterflies in the stomach.

It was launched in November 2008 along with the intruder and costed 12.50 ex showroom back then. Went up to around 17.xx over the years.

Suzuki started manufacturing it here in Manesar rather than a CBU and the prices came back down to 13.xx.

Suzuki has already stopped the production, also pulled it off from all major international markets. They are just pushing their remaining inventory here. Yeah that was indeed a legendary and epic machine but it's time to say goodbye and welcome its successor, expected soon.

Re: 2020 Suzuki Hayabusa launched at Rs. 13.75 lakh

Hayabusa is THE bike which made me weak in the knees when I saw John ride it in Dhoom for the first time. Since then I have loved this beautiful machine more and more as I learned about what makes it so special. It's the true grand-daddy of all performance bikes.

Can't wait to get a look at the Generation 3. Knowing Suzuki, I am sure they have a stupendous surprise in store. IMHO the Hayabusa name is too legendary to die.

Off Topic - If anyone wants to know what makes Hayabusa so special. Please watch this amazingly produced video from PD.

Re: 2020 Suzuki Hayabusa launched at Rs. 13.75 lakh

There is something about this bike which makes me love it everytime I see or ride one. Despite the lack of electronic nannies and digital tech, the raw soul of a Busa is oh-so-addictive that one ride on it and you just wanna add one to your stables just for the sake of owning a piece of heritage.

I share Bigron's fears that Suzuki might just finally draw the curtains on the entire model-line. In that case, I think the busa will go the RD way and will command a premium for the used pieces considering the legend that it is. Guess I should seriously consider picking up a used one now before the used-bike market demands a kidney for it.

Re: 2020 Suzuki Hayabusa launched at Rs. 13.75 lakh

There is no Generation 3 happening.
Suzuki has removed the busa from all major markets world over due to the engines inability to meet latest pollution norms.
Kawasaki is already pushing the H2 Sx as its fast open class hyper bike.

Suzuki has nothing in the pipeline. This is the end of the road for the Hayabusa.

They would need substantial investment and some form of forced induction to compete at any level and they just do not have the funds nor there is a market for a product like this anymore.
There are lighter faster safer machines available at all price points now.

I would hold mine forever though.

I heard rumors online that they are indeed working on a new Hayabusa, are these rumors false?

Re: 2020 Suzuki Hayabusa launched at Rs. 13.75 lakh

I am hoping they are not. But as yet they are only rumours.

They will have to completely update the bike to bring it upto speed with the current crop and that would take alot of funding, time and development.

I am not sure Suzuki even thinks that there is a market for something like this in the future.

Let's hope for the best.

Re: 2020 Suzuki Hayabusa launched at Rs. 13.75 lakh

There are rumors like Suzuki will sell the Hayabusa for at least 2-3 lakh discount to clear the BS4 stock (ie 12L on road). Not sure about the credibility of the news though.
