Comparing the 998/999cc motors - it is indeed a feat that Honda has achieved here. Blew even the BMW with shiftcam away nice and clean!

CBR RR-R - 214.56bhp
S1000RR - 207 hp

ZX10R - 200hp
GSX 1000R - 199hp
R1 - 197hp
Oh No No!! I am really appreciating this thing. So much so that I have not slept in the last days of dreaming of this thing.

From whatever I have read, this is not going to be a typical mid range based Honda motor. This will be all about revs. How fast it will rev, plus the smooth engine transitions from on throttle, off throttle, through the gears with minimal jerks and all. This is going to be very similar to a race motor and should be very delicious.

Cant wait for the ride reports to come out!! I have already started working on making my kidneys healthier for a better price till next year.

CHEERS!!

Re: 2020 Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade

The whole reason this bike exists is because HRC are returning to WSBK next season after they left it back in 2003 post winning Colin Edwards title with the VTR1000.

Hence the focus on being the most powerful i4 999cc so they don't get their revs cut like Ducatis v4 when it started dominating Wsbk races until halfway point.

Plus Honda hates losing its home race i.e, Suzuka 8 hours to its Japanese rivals(which mostly was rider error last 3 years tbh).

Here's a bad news for any potential Fireblade owner in India. The bike will be running in small production numbers(enough to meet wsb homologation) so its going to cost a lot more than the current bike and there's not a lot of units waiting for you.

Which costs 62L on-road, almost three times the price of the most expensive motorcycle in the other list. No use considering such specials among mainstream motorcycles.

The 959 Panigale is closer to the others in cc and pricing but produces only about 150hp. So no a direct comparison either.

I thought we were discussing Homologation specials for WSBK. That’s V4R and RR-RR SP respectively

Luxury brands command their own premium

ZX10R is 213 PS or 210BHP with RAM air (which is stock), though honestly these are just no. in real life you can't find any considerable difference in performance.

Don't forget the Aprilia RSV4, still a potent banger for what it has to offer. But, loved that styling, that dash with analogue cum digital tacho, that's some true common sense involved there. In all, things like these will always be a wet and pipe dream for some mortals like us.

Cheers!

Yeah, plus Honda has been seriously unlucky with any racing they were in with the current Fireblade for the last 3 years. They got Nicky and he well died. John Mcguinness had a crash and eventually left Honda. They gut Hutchison, he had a crash too. So about time, things started working for them.

They won races in BSB, won Aussie SBK title 2018 and also won the FIM EWC 2018 title with it.

Waiting to see how other Japanese/ European manufacturers respond. It's so incredible that Electronics has changed so much over the years.
We need more Race Tracks in India.
My 2018 Honda Africa Twin has 80 different settings which I'am still trying to understand.
Hey Doc, All those 80 settings are waste of time, my 2017 AT is as simple as cutting butter, 4 modes (D, S1, S2&S3) simple!

Man, the new blade looks to have evolved quite a lot! Those 6 winglets will keep the bike glued to the track, and the host of updated and polished electronics will make a rookie like me ride like MM93

2020 Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade and Fireblade SP bookings have begun in India. Customers can head to Honda BigWing dealerships to book the bike. Deliveries will commence from end of August this year.

Re: 2020 Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade

The pricing seems to be a shocker.
  • CBR1000 RR R STD = INR 30.40 L
  • CBR1000RR R SP = INR 34.00 L

The OTR Bangalore prices for the SP variant is about INR 42 Lakhs. Can anybody confirm if this is true?

Colour options are Grand Prix Red and Matte Pearl Morion Black on the Standard variant and the Grand Prix Red on the SP variant.

There have been rumours on the pricing being steep for this 2020 Blade. I dont believe the pricing is announced yet though.

Indians have gravitated to the ZX10R in droves but I believe there is brand fatigue in the superbike community for sports bikes from Kawasaki. I know of cases where ZX10R buyers have sold their bikes for more exclusive litre class machinery because the Kawasaki was just too common in their riding groups. Maybe there is a place for the new Blade in the market, priced as it will be above the ZX10R, though at 30 L it will be an incredibly tough sell and there will be strong push back from their dealers as well on this product positioning.

Re: 2020 Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade

While going through the specifications, I thought this data should be of some interest for people who like to use the new Fireblade for both street and tracking riding.

Ground clearance:
New Fireblade: 115 mm
ZX10-R: 145 mm
Yamaha R1: 130 mm

Surprised to see ZX10-R having a higher GC (got the data from the Kawasakin India website) and the new Fireblade on the other side of the spectrum.
