The Harley-Davidson dealer in Mumbai is offering heavy discounts on demo bikes. Depending on the model, the discounts range from Rs. 1.08 - 3.67 lakh.



The 2018 Street 750, which has an on-road price of Rs. 6,85,066, is being offered for Rs. 5,76,466. The 2017 Street Rod with an on-road price of Rs. 8,12,330 is available for Rs. 6,81,730. The 2017 Street Bob which costs Rs. 15,72,802 is being offered for Rs. 13,19,202, while the 2017 Fat Bob is available for Rs. 15,12,916. The 2017 Fat Boy, which costs Rs. 22,32,723 is available at a discount of Rs. 3,67,000, effectively costing Rs. 18,65,723.

The dealership is also offering finance options on the bikes listed above.

Thats actually a pretty useless price for a abused 2 yr old Fatboy when one can actually buy cared for 2 year old fatboy for double that discount. Good used examples can easily be had for 15L. And thats the new design ones.

The HD Street 750, Street Rod, Street Bob , Fat Bob, Fat Boy or even "Fat Man" or whatever they have depreciate in value like other premium bikes in our country and a seller who has used it for a few years, has to wait for a long time to get a customer in the normal course. He's lucky if he gets one much too soon. And the Demo bikes are the ones that have borne the brunt of wannabe buyers and sales/ service centre guys, many of whom subject it to rough use.

Hence, it makes sense to get an used bike, that has been well kept rather than go for these Demo bikes (or even cars of any dealer). One must be greeted with a "Happy Biking" meme on his wall, rather than getting a " biking" meme from someone else !
