Re: Whats your dream bike?

Reviving this old thread which becomes even more relevant today given that our market has opened up and we are getting so many imports.

Some of my dream bikes are:
Triumph Tiger 800 - Dreams do come true and I now own one
Honda Africa Twin - XRV 750 from the mid 90s
Yamaha Tenere XT 660 of 90s as well as the Tenere T7 of the current

And since we are dreaming, I would like to have a rally/raid version of the RE Himalayan producing about 50+ BHP and having cross country Dakar type capabilities!

Let your dreams flow in!

Re: Whats your dream bike?

Mine would be the Desmosedici. it's quite attainable also as far as race replicas go. Can be had for 60-70 GBP in the used market and is quite readily available.

Re: Whats your dream bike?

It is not just one, but I have had many dream bikes for more than two decades. The first motorcycle that attracted me was my neighbour's blue colour RD 350. It sounded and looked different than many commuter motorcycle in early 1990s. Those days, roads were full of scooters than motorcycles. Royal Enfield was nothing but a police motorcycle and most of the uncles were on scooters, very few had Rajdoot and Hero Honda CD100. Rich youngsters were the ones who could afford RX100, RTZ, Ind-Suzuki. This is the period I started to explore about passionate motorcycles.

There was no internet and computers in early 1990s. Magazines were the only way to learn about motorcycles. Auto India, Over drive and few imported magazine were my sources. One of those magazines was to offer a free automobile poster. There, i found my dream bike. Kawasaki Ninja ZXR 750

I got the poster laminated and put it on my bedroom wall.
Reading magazines made me an automobile freak. That resulted in my visits to many auto expos. In one of the expos I found another dream bike. Yamaha MT01. Truly a monster.

I also dreamt of owning these exact models and colors of Yamaha R1 and R6. I was big fan of Yamaha back then, Although I couldn't own RX models or RD350 but bought Enticer. R1 and R6 still remained as my dream.

My dream was not limited to Yamaha. I also dreamt about Suzuki Bandit 1250 and Katana

Re: Whats your dream bike?

I'm sure I'm not alone in any of what I'm about to say.

As I was growing up, faired sports bikes were my favourite to look at.

At age 22, I got hooked to the Tiger 800 XRx.

Now I guess I've moved over from a dream bike, to a dream garage
I do have grand aspirations to do RTW tour. A shaft driven BMW GS sounds good. With a simple twin at home for regular commuting.
The 1250 GS + something like an Interceptor 650 (actually not the Interceptor in its current avatar) sounds good to me. I'm a simple man.

As much as all that, I also want to ride and experience as many motorcycles as I can. So as long as the body is willing, and the wallet is willing, I fancy myself owning and experiencing a variety. Fingers crossed

Re: Whats your dream bike?

Many bikes over the year came and went fleetingly and the heart desires them dearly. As youngsters we all probably had PC or phone wallpapers or posters on the wall. I rarely stick to older generation bikes once the newer models are out, hence my strong liking towards them.

My favourite machines would be the BMW S 1000 RR, BMW C400GT, BMW R1250 GS and the R1300 GS including the adventure models.

Re: Whats your dream bike?

There's only one bike I dream about: the Yamaha RD350
Although I do aspire to own some nice bikes in future such as the Blackbird, the Katana, the Panigale V4, I have never dreamt about them. The RD takes the cake, considering it is always going to be an unattainable dream for me especially in Delhi NCR, where I now live.

Re: Whats your dream bike?

Diesel heads and petrol heads, and CNG heads, and electric or hydrogen heads.
It is with great pleasure to announce you that I've finally bought my dream bike last week. After a decade or more of drooling over it.
