That is bang in the middle of the 1200 gs territory. Now I know from experience and otherwise that the older Triumph Tiger could not hold a candle next to the GS which was a far superior product on every count.
This however with alleged 100 improvements over the previous model might just take the fight to the King of the Hill.Though I still believe it will be a distant second.

True. Most people think the same way too, including me.

But somehow the way BMW Motorrad handled the 'Stanchion seperation issue' left a far worse impression of unprofessionalism than the Triumph detuning fiasco.

And then there's the dealership experience - I wouldn't be susprised if this Triumph gets its own share of takers, specially in Bangalore.

I concur with how BMW handled the entire Stanchion issue here in India.
If I am honest I am actually waiting/hoping for KTM to bring in the 1190/1090 Adventure to India and than we will really have a fight on our hands.

I think you don't have to for too long for that. KTM 790 adventure tourer has been seen testing again. This now is rumored to make its debut in EICMA-2018

It will easier to get immigration and move to a country where these bikes are sold as opposed to waiting for them here.

Yes, i went through that article just yesterday. Very promising. Should shake up the middle weight adventure tourer market in India nicely if and when KTM decides to bring it here. Though I dont think that will happen even in distant future.
I for one would still hold back for the 1090 or the 1290, an endless wait I think.
Coming back to the new tiger 1200, it does look promising and certainly deserves an extensive test ride.

The KTM Adventure is like this mysterious creature that so many people claim to have spotted. Nobody even knows whether it actually exists.

The adventure category under 10 lakhs is ripe for the picking. The Versys has absolutely no competition whatsoever. It is really frustrating to see KTM not grab the opportunity. I think RE might launch the Himalayan twin before KTM launches the Adventure.

The Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT is on its way by July 2018, as told by Suzuki officials during the Suzuki GSX S750 launch in Pune.

It will be priced somewhere between the Versys 650 and the Tiger 800 since the XT variant has all the bells and whistles including panniers so a premium over the Versys is justified.
